Thanks Casey.. that cheers me up a lot. We have a 19 month old daughter and a 7 month old son, so it's extra hard on me thinking he'll pretty much miss everything. So have you always found time to spend with him? After school hours and his regular navy duties and stuff?

Hey everyone.. my husband left for bootcamp on March 2nd and he's planning on doing the nuke program.. I've talked to this guy who was in the nuke program for 6 years, and he said that the deployments are horrible.. and he spent 70% of his time out at sea.. I will be living with my husband during A-school and wherever he'll be stationed after that.. is it really as bad as what people say it is?

Hi everyone, my son graduated A school today with "distinction". We are very proud. Thanks for directions. He is looking forward to starting Power School.

ProudMom, our son isn't yet graduating from A School. He actually just started it.

I'm really happy and people have said to me, "You have the happiest smile on your face today!" It's showing, I can't hide it! Now I am going to sift through all of his clothes which I washed and organized back in December so that I can bring him his best clothes and a few things he might want to have, for example his "new Christmas Nikes" which got sent back in "The Box"!

2:00 tomorrow just can't get here soon enough. I don't want to cook dinner, I don't want to pack..I just want to GO! :)

My son is taking oral boards on Monday and hopefully will graduate the following friday, does anyone know if a press release is available so I can put something in the local newspaper?

Thank you, Casey. That's the one I chose. I really appreciate hearing that from you. We're bringing his beagle along too, (per his request) so with a pet deposit some of the other ones were a bit expensive. This one has a $25 non-refundable pet fee. Some of the fancier places were higher on their pet deposit. I believe this one will be fine and I'm very happy to be close to the base. Hopefully, weather permitting, we will be enjoying the beach area with him on Saturday. I am so excited to be able to see him and visit and enjoy some time with him. We didn't get to go to PIR so it's been quite a stretch of time since we've seen him. Well, we're leaving tomorrow around 2pm. Our daughter is excited to see her brother and she gets to leave school a little early! As you can see, "mom" is excited too. I can tell "dad" is too! And the dog too! :)

Moms and wives, I'm within an hour of making our reservations for this weekend in Charleston. Any quick suggestions? Should we stay in Goose Creek or North Charleston? Any answers would be appreciated. Tricia

My son and I have been discussing the different types of subs and what would be best for him to try to get stationed on. He's leaning toward SSBN because he's been told they have predictable deployment, 3 months out- 3 months on land, and that he'll see more foreign ports. Can anyone give us some advice on this topic? Thanks!
