I watched several people build snowmen. Do you live in one of the newer homes or the older brick homes. There were people out until all hours in the snow playing. I watched out the window off and on for hours. Several of my sons friends were from Florida and had never seen snow before, they had a ball. A couple in Villa next to us and his parents played for hours outside. Watched the sky glow blue several times as transformers blew but we didn't lose our lights just the street lights lining the drive through the Villas. We went into Charleston Saturday morning to see the Yorktown but may have seen it when we came back. There were a lot of snowmen. It was so much fun to see.

NY Navy Wife,
Our stay t the Villas has been wonderful and am writing as I sit in the living room. We leave tomorrow to return to California. We have a three bedroom, all bedrooms at this Villa are up stairs. Master bedroom has a queen bed, second bedroom has a double and third has a twin. Each has sheets, pillows bedspread and a blanket in the closet. Iron board and iron, laundry roomith washer dryer, living room with a couch and chair, TV with cable. Kitchen has basic pots and pans,dishes/silverware/glasses for 5 (in our unit) and a few cooking utinsels. I bought a basic set of pots and pans at Walmart as these here were well used and need more and one of my sons married friends took them home (I was going to just leave it here) Coffee pot, dish towel and cloth, dish and dishwasher soap, paper towels and coffee for one pot. Three bathrooms, one full bath and two half baths. Towels were nice and plenitful. Table and chairs in kitchen and in dinning room (great as I hosted two dinners for 8 to 12 of sons friends and wives. BBQ and table chairs on outside patio. TV in master bedroom with DVD/VCR. We were very comfortable and very pleased. And we were here for the first snow in 10 years or so. We had 4 to 6 inches Friday night and watched as everyone in the area made snowmen or had snow ball fights. Some had never been in snow before. Almost all melted by next day noon or so. Can't wait until Power School graduation in 7 or 8 months.

My fiance is in ship 7 div 107. I just got a letter saying that I cant go to graduation. It turns out that he left the section for guests at graduation blank, thereby forfeiting his spots. I had a plane ticket, hotel reservations, and a rental car all planned out. Now, I cant go. He wants me to change my flight and cancel my reservations and go out to see him in SC once he is in A school. I am concerned that he wont have liberties one week after school has started. Does any one know how liberty works? I'm having a really hard time dealing with this new news.

Well A School graduation for my son was this morning and was wonderful. Staying at the Villas. Last night several of his friends and one wife can over and I cooked dinner for them. Had a wonderful time hearing their stories etc. It was nice to clap extra hard for more than my son. Several are going to dinner with us tonight (and its supposed to SNOW tonight) then tomorrow we are having a BBQ here for as many as can still stand my cooking. This three bedroom Villa is more than wonderful. Amberly I think we are next door to you. Congratulations to Tyler for his awards. Flying home to California Sunday. PS the drive across the entire country was great, left Sunday the 7th and arrived Wed. Missed all the bad weather and saw some of this country I've never seen. It was all worth driving 12 hours a day to see and experience this with my son.

Amberly,
One ceremony for all graduating A school that day. Our trip is about 45 driving hours. I consider it an adventure. Seeing country I've never seen (and may find I will never want to do again also) and getting to see my son's second milestone in this Navy adventure he is on. (Bootcamp PIR being the first). My husband and I are 61 and 56 and both gray haired (we should be easy to spot). Say Hi if you see us.
