Hi JakobsNukeMom - when we went to A school graduation our son had put our names on a list. When we pulled up at the gate we had to show our ID. We were told everyone had to show ID along with the car (rental) papers and proof of car insurance. They never asked for the car paperwork but we had it just in case! Come on over to the Nuke moms page and post your question there. Someone who has been more recently will be able to provide you with more up to date info.
Hi, my son is graduating A school this Friday. Are their any special forms required? I'm having trouble finding information on visiting for the graduation.
Good Morning! Just a reminder to any new members - be sure to join the nuke moms group too as it is more active:
Thank you B'sNukeMoM⚓️MM and Nukelukesmom your comments are very helpful....the nuke moms group is more active!
kai cat - I see that Nukelukesmom answered your question. You might also post the questions in the nuke moms group - it's a more active group and you will get more responses!
kai cat, I would suggest phone and lap top for sure. My son is not a gamer, but there are many who like to have their gaming system with them. They only have limited room in their baggage when leaving Great Lakes, so that might be something to consider. Also, they don't have TV's in their rooms at Goose Creek so he may not have anywhere to hook up the PS4 unless he ends up rooming with someone who gets a TV after they arrive. They can wear their own underwear any time but civilian clothes are not allowed until they move into Phase 2 which is about 2-3 weeks depending on their instructor and how quickly everyone falls in line once they start classes. A lot of them like to have just one or two things they can wear inside their rooms or to sleep in and then have their things shipped or buy some new things if they choose.
As far as school clothes, they wear their duty uniforms during class so he won't need anything for that.
Hope this helps! Good luck and have a great time at PIR!
Hello! I am just looking for some information, if all goes well, my son will have his PIR feb 09, 2018. I was planning on bringing him his cell phone, laptop, and PS4 (is this a good idea to bring his gaming system to him too?) to the airport when he leaves to go to school. But I also read that you should bring him underwear and regular clothes also? I am confused...can he wear his own underwear and regular clothes?
Also - does the navy provide his school clothes for him or should we purchase some for him?
I appreciate any information! Thank-you everyone!
