Hi I am the mom of OC Althouse who is in 09-11. Some got letters by the end of the first week. I got all five of my daughter's letters yesterday and one today, so they were holding her letters at OCS and then sent the whole wad out at one time. The majority got their letters a lot sooner than I did. One of the Mom's still has not gotten a letter yet and it is now the end of week three. She is having a rough time of it. I got my first and only call on Monday night at 7 pm which was twenty four hours after she got there. It lasted three minutes, there was bad static and my daughter sounded like she was in shock. Some never got a phone call. The first three weeks will be the hardest for you and your Loved One (LO). It will go by faster than you think. Please join or start your LO's class friends and family page on FB.  Here is the link to Friends and Family of OCS Class 09-11:

Please join us. I also joined 08-11, 07-11, and 06-11.  You will need the support and the information that gets filtered to you is invaluable. Best wishes. See you on FB.  Violet

I have joined the fb group for the 10-11 class already and I will add 09-11 as well. Thank you for the info. My LO is going to call me in the morning before he leaves his hotel. I am so nervous and anxious. I have not been out of communication with my LO since we started dating. Thanks for the reply!
I am not going to lie to you, its harder on the wives and girlfriends than on the mothers. Its bad enough for us as moms not know what is happening to our LO's every minute, but the truth is that our kids are adults who for the most part were either at college or already had their own homes.  You will feel lonely, that is why its so good to have the fellowship of FB. Someone is always on and someone always has new info and you can always vent and whine there when you have to. LOL.  I will be joining 10-11 as well. If you can please post the link for me. Thanks

I am going to miss him so much that my heart will burst when I finally get to see him again.
