For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I haven't, but it took me a few attempts to find 13-10 when searching. Title had to be fairly close before the search picked it up...Family & Friends of January 24, 2010 Class 13-10...Also had to be approved to join, I guess to make sure we have a LO in training. Try joining us until one can be found or started for 14-10.
WELCOME TO ALL in 14-10. My LO is in Class 13-10 Alpha. He's concerned about rolling if he doesn't pass this week's tests. We've only had one email and one very short phone call in the nearly 4 weeks that he's been gone. If he does roll, I guess he'd reclass later with 14-10. He indicated in his email and his phone call that he was borderline in the PRT trials. Hopefully we'll hear soon and as of now, we're following the NNIGN mantra. -

Hello- My Husband is also in class 14-10. This is a great site with tons of valuable info. What a great surprise for those who quickly heard their LO's voice. I have not heard from my guy. I am also not expecting one. I know he will call the first chance he gets. I wanted to let others know, if they haven't yet (received a call from LO) we will. Patience is the greatest skill I have acquired being married to a fast attack (little to no communication underway) submariner for the past 5 years. Best of luck to our LO's!

Oh my goodness! My fiance could possibly be on a fast attack sub after his training. How long do you go before getting to hear from him?

It usually depends. Most of the time I would get emails about every 3 weeks. The email on a sub doesn't work like it does on the surface. They can only send and receive so much info at a time and at certain times, that's why its hard to keep in contact. They usually don't have many ports on deployments either. You get used to it. You get into a routine. It's nice, when you talk or write, you don't "nag" about daily things. You get to focus on what you actually miss about them and the good things. You can tell them all about the daily grind stuff when they get home. Not much they can do when their not here, right?

I have to be honest, I almost with I hadnt heard from my LO. He had NO voice, all I could here were guys screaming in the background-it killed me! Part of me just wishes I would have heard from him after this week of Hell is over, and he could be like "this sucks, but I made it through it." Hard to explain I guess...
Plus with me NOT expecting his phone call until the earliest-this weekend, and getting on Monday-I've been on edge all week. NOT FUN!! -

Good Morning 14-10! I have had all of you on my mind this morning so thought I would pop in and say hi! The best advice I can give is to hang in there! Don't expect anything and it will be a great surprise when you receive a call or letter. Letter's do take a long time to come, but continue to write each day. This is what helps get them through. Each LO is an individual so when one says they get three or four letters from their LO the other might only get one or two (that was me). But when my son explained that he used that time to prepare for inspections and study for tests that made it easier not hearing from him as often as others. Another key thing to remember, each DI is different, so what one group does or privileges are given doesn't necessarily mean the other group will have that same privilege. Also a very important thing to remember and I believe it was mentioned earlier, this site is public, anyone can read it including the DI's. Be careful what you say, use it more of support and not sharing what your LO has possibly said about their leaders. Use private messaging for that. Off my soap box, I have just seen this problem, if it can be avoided all the better.
As you all have, ask any question, we were all newbies at one point and some of us will still be popping in to help answer those questions. Everything happens for a reason, if your LO should roll remember it is not the end of the world, it is giving them more time to prepare for this great journey. When my LO started and people asked how long he would be gone I would say a minimum of 12 weeks, never taking anything for granted.
