For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is going to graduate from OCS on May 4th. Just wanting to know if anyone else out there has a son or daughter that is graduating at that time.

Hi, yes we are attending all or most the festivites. Where are you from? We are from Kansas City. Was your son in the 10-12G company. I am trying to learn all the lingo, since this Navy stuff is all new to me. What is your son going to do in the Navy. It is so exciting.

We're from Massachusetts, so we are fortunate to have an easy drive to get down to graduation. Our son is in the other company graduating on the 4th, 10-12. He will be heading to Pensacola for flight training after graduation. We are also new to the military world, so this has been a whole new experience. I'm sure our time in Newport next week will be quite an eye-opening experience.

My son is also going to go to Pensacola for flight school. Where did your son go to college? My son went to Kansas State University and received his degree in aviation technology which is technically a commercial pilot degree. Does your son know when he has to go to Pensacola? My son thinks he will need to be there the following week. I am looking forward to seeing him, this is the longest I have gone without seeing him.

My son has a degree in International Studies and Economics from Colby College (up in Maine). He does not have his orders yet, but expects them any day. It would be nice if he had a few days to wrap up his affairs here before heading down to FL, but the Navy will do what it will do with him. He's been living in DC for almost two years, so I'm at least used to not seeing him. If you haven't discovered Skype yet, you need to; it's a lifesaver for long separations.

My son starts may 6 so I am just beginning the journey. I would like yo hear from you after graduation to get idea of time frames for things. At what week do they find out where they go after graduation ?

My son knew going in that he was on an aviation track. I don't know how it works in other situations, as I have no knowledge of how the navy works beyond my son's experience. Your best bet is to just be patient, and write your son as often as possible in those early weeks. He will really appreciate the moral support. Best of luck to him (and you!).

My son graduated with a degree in buisness university of Iowa. He starts May 6. They told him most likely Pensacola but some also go to corpus Christi Texas for flight training. Not sure when he finds out. I haven't gone that long without seeing my son either! Usually talk to him once a week also so that will be hard. They say no news is good news when they are there. I look forward to hearing about your experience with graduation.
