My son will be starting this in this  OCS class and would like to get LO connecting as we wait for the class to start in about 3 months. Then talk as we wait for graduation and make plans.

As my son will be starting in two weeks, and yours in 3 months, I can probably give you a week by week update on what is expected. I can tell you that my son is spending time memorizing that little book of rules. They are expected to know it inside and out and be able to quite passages by heart! I've been helping and testing him. How long of a process did this take your son? I thought it was so unusual for this process to take a year and a half, but have found out that this isn't so unusual! Ellen
My son has been in the Navy for a while. It takes time for sure!!! My son is also making sure he is in physical shape. My son's wife is helping him with the memorization for sure. He enlisted when he was 18 and got out after 6 years. Then did reserves and went back in. So this was the next step, and can't remember when he started the process. This is so exciting for sure Laurie
I bet this class designation is 01-11. The first class of fiscal year 2011. Don't know about class number but fiscal year is always last. 15-10 graduates next week- 15th class of fiscal year 2010.
yes was told I had it backwards, Thank you I did not know if I could change it and figured start new group when got closer.
So, it's only 93 more days until this class starts. It's not that I want him to leave, I just want him to be done with it so we can see him at graduation. I am already really proud of him.
Yes, I am proud too!!! The bonus is get to see you and kids at graduation. I need to come out so Glenn and you can get away for the weekend with no kids--sound like a plan???
It does sound like a good plan, I just want to make sure the kids get to spend all the time with him too while we're there. I don't want to take him away from everyone that comes to visit. Maybe after he graduates from school afterwards that can happen, that way, the kids won't feel left out and I won't be taking him away from them either. We'll get to go with him shortly after to his next duty station. It's crazy with everything being up in the air right now as far as dates go.
Ha, I was talking about where you live now before he goes to OCS what are you talking about? I would not want him to take off while we all traveled for graduation, silly!!
So, it's 68 days until he has to be at the class. :( I know he'll do great but after watching that video he pulled up with how they have to eat, I think he might starve. I think all of them might starve because I don't think I could eat like that, especially with a spoon. I'm looking forward to summer but not him leaving during the summer. I think it will go by faster than I think.
I am afraid you are right. I got to change this the title is wrong Glenn said I have backwards
Hi Jenny03...my LO graduated with 13-10...they all lost 2 to 3 sizes because of the eating procedures and earning food privileges. They do look quite trim and fit at the end!
My LO called last night and said that they had fried chicken on the menu and he really wanted it, but he couldn't figure out how he'd eat it with a spoon so he didn't choose it! I imagine he's losing weight as well, but he wanted to go from a 34 waist to a 32 so I guess he'll accomplish that! I wondered how they could eat a steak or various other foods with a spoon.... I guess they just go with the more mushy stuff rather than risk a DI yelling at them. Besides, they can't really look at their food when they eat. It's a whole protocol!
