My LO is in Class 20-10B.  Any other moms out there with a LO in 20-10 A or B?  I have been reading about class 19-10.  We need to start our own group.

Hi, my LO is also in 20-10B...If you have facebook there is a group there. OCS20-10 Friends and Family. I believe there are about 59 members. Please check it out. I hope your LO is doing good. I know how hard it must be.
Hi, my LO is in 20-10 A. I just heard from my granddaughter-in-law there is a 1.5 mile run for the family either before or after graduation. Don't know if I will be able to do it, but I am definitely going to try. It's the least I can do after all my LO has done and will continue to do getting thru OCS. Hope you LO is doing well.
Heard from my LO three times yesterday - first was an e-mail around 1320, said passed RLP, now had internet access on Sundays from 0730 to 1600 for personal use, said would call around 1600. Waited patiently, got the call around 1500, talked for 20 min. Have never enjoyed more a conversation with one of my kids than this one!! LO sounded good, much better than last letter (#2). Then got another e-mail around 1550 with what was left out of the phone call. Now LO wants info on how to iron uniforms for PI next week. Anyone know of a good internet site that I can e-mail/cut & paste the info to send? LO says that mail is the high-lite of the day, when they get it. Seems that the DI decides if they have deserved a mail call or not. So keep sending the letters & cards, with daily/national news & especially the weather forecast. They don't have access to this & when red flag conditions (heat advisory) goes into effect, they can't go outside for PT/drill. Might lift their spirits if they know that a red flag day may be approaching.
grannyrose,
There is a 1.5 mile run at 5 or 5:30 am the morning of graduation, appropriately called the Graduation Run. Anyone that cares to can run with the class and their DI. There may also be a "rose garden" demonstration, and one last visit to the Chow Hall to eat by the numbers. Graduation is early, starts at 9am, but the class marches in about 8:30 or so. This is an opportunity for you to take photos. Definitly get there early!
I wanted to try the run, but it was all of 12 deg. when my LO graduated, and no outdoor activity was allowed. I wouldn't have succeeded at the run, but like you, wanted to try to show some comraderie with my LO.
What is the "rose garden" demonstration?
The "rose garden" is a sandpit - and they do PT there, imagine push ups and sit ups in the sand. Just an uncomfortable, messy place to be.
Thanks for letting me know. I can't image doing pushups and situps in the sand. I just can't wait until September to be able to fly up for graduation.
