Our girl just got her hair cut off today.. she brought me home her braid. I cried. It is real for me now.
My son is on his way Oct 6th. I dropped him off this morning. They are all so brave!
Our daughter left yesterday too. She called last night and sounded tired and excited. Her sister got to go down to MEPS and enlist at the same time she was getting processed to leave. They got to say good bye. I miss my girl, but I was so glad to see our youngest when she came home. I know this is their decision, but it is hard for a parent. The nice thing was, the morning of the fifth, they had an argument over a pair of pants, I loved it!!!! We laughed and laughed,
Congrats, and hugs - somehow it gets a little worse right after the call... because the big push to get him there safely is over, and now there's nothing left to do is wait. Just keep your eye on all the things that come next, you'll get the form letter, and then the "kid in a box", and then maybe a real letter, and then about half way through you get a phone call - and then you can start focusing on all the downhill side - all the activities that lead up to PIR. In smaller chunks, it's really not too bad =)
