My son left yesterday. I went to MEPS with him to see him off, he was very nervouse. His brother went too, he is leaving Feb 16th or sooner if he can. I got my call last night to say he was ok and could call in 2weeks and would write in 3...
I remember the count down... I told my son he could have whatever he wanted to eat the last two weeks, any snacks he wanted I bought. We did a lot of dining out too and a special dinner last Sunday to ANY restraunt he wanted. I am so glad I did that and he felt special. My daughters and I made him brownies and cupcakes and special things!
Keep in touch...It is hard when they go, I know now...

Navymom - My son leaves 10/23 as well!!! I did really good till yesterday now that its just 2 weeks the kleenex has to come out!! I don't know how much time you have spent on this site, but it has been a great source of knowledge and help the last month or more!! Best wishes and lets keep in touch!
My son was scheduled to leave today, we dropped him off at recruiters office, he made it to the hotel to learn they had the wrong ship date on his paperwork. Now he is back home for 2 weeks, new date is the 27th. It was hard droppping him off today, lots of tears. He told me next time he was driving himself and we could pick up his truck later. I think it was harder on him having us there. Im happy I have him for 2 more weeks.
