I guess you could say this is his first full day there. I got the call last night that he made it there okey. I won't hear from him for three weeks. WOW!!! I am just so excited for him and nervous at the same time. Looking forward to graduation.

Proud Mom, that pretty much says it all for all us mom's!! Wait til you see them at graduation. I get misty just thinking about it! It's AMAZING!! Try not to get too nervous during this journey (as if that's possible, I was so nervous and excited at the same time!) and join as many of the groups that apply to your family and Seman Recruit! I do have one giant recommendation, write to him, write to him every day! My son said that it helped to balance the caous, it gave them a sense of normalacy. They wanted to know football or basketball scores, just stuff like that. What happened on their favorite shows, anything! They say when mail call comes it's like the ice cream truck has arrived!

What's your son going to do after boot camp? Which A School will he be going to?
He will be going to school for Corman. What about yours? I plan on writing him tonight and getting his first letter out.
My son is a Corpsman too! He just graduated from his FMTB training at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina. We were back there visiting the last couple of weeks. The weather was wonderful! He graduated from HM or A School back in May. Feel free to email me if I can help in anyway!! Welcome ProudMom!!! = )
Christine, Ashley was at Camp Lejuene this past weekend. She is going back in two weeks for the Marine Corps Ball. That girl is wearing her tires out on the East Coast. I'm going to DC next month to spend a week with her. TTYL! Hope all is well with your Sailor. Trisha
My son just left today - he just called from O'Hare to say he had made it ok. Not sure if he will get another call, but at least I know he got that far safely. I feel the same - excited for him and nervous.
You should get another call this evening. Only this one is going to be short. Someone is standing next to him. Start righting him now. I have family and friends writing all the time so when mail call comes he always get one letter. I don't want him to feel left out. I have already written two letters.
Chin-up mothers... this is the hard part, but it gets easier I promise! If you need a virtual hug or have questions, you'll always find help on N4M - and if you need to just cry, that's ok too. Treasure that call =)

Next step is the Kid-in-a-box!

Congratulations on sons entering the Navy!!!! A year ago today, my son left for BC, so I know how you feel. Like Kendra said, if you need a virtual hug, encouragement or place to vent, please let us know.

I just got the call from my daughter. I thought she was going to use her cell, but supposedly couldn't get to it in time.
I'm sad, but not all weepy. The house is strange because it is so quiet. She made some friends at the airport, so I think
she will be okay :-). I'm just going to miss her so much!

When you write to your daughter, thank her for serving from me.
I know exactly what you are feeling, my son, left exact 1 year ago today, and I recieved that "i"m here" call just before midnight. If her new friends are in her division, she be do fine, but she;'ll be fine anyway!!
The quiet is eerie, I know for sure, I was amazed at how much noise my son could make even when he was quiet.
Please keep us informed on your daughter's progress.
Many hugs for you {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}!!

Amy's mom.
My name is Kathy. My son Todd just left Monday. It has been hard but stay busy. I know when I get home from work is when I have the hardest time. Just take it one day at a time. Now it will come piece by piece. You got the call, now start looking forward to the Kid In the Box, then to the letters and phone calls then to graduation. I am on day 4, Yes I have started counting. If I don't do something I will go crazy. Oh, start writing letters now. I got my son's address yesterday and I already had to letters done. I will mail one today and one tomorrow. That way he will get one everyday if I mail one everyday. LOL!!!!! I don't want him to think I have for gotten him. Good Luck, I am here if you want to talk. Lots of prayers.
I've been hoping the "kid in the box" comes today, but no luck. I saw the Fedex truck, but had to stop myself from running him down LOL.
Since Amy left on Wednesday, I'm guessing it is Day 5. I keep writing her letters and printing them off. My husband is just writing her one long letter and I told him that maybe printing it off and starting a new one is a good thing :-).

I need her address - relatives are asking me left and right...

Laura :-)
