momof5-
Sounds like our sons will know each other. You going to do the Thanksgiving Adopt a Sailor for the Day event? I'm trying to get info on how to adopt your own kid. I found the form to adopt a random sailor or two but still no 411 on how to specifically request your own kid (and a couple of extras too). I see your in MI, I'm in IN but my dad lives near GL.
My son is a rescue swimmer, he trains with a former SEAL every week. He is so into physical stuff, he just pushes and pushes..He can't wait to get started!

my son is in spec ops boot camp, he has a SEAL contract. He could have gone Nuke but he wanted the challenge. Sigh. Another thing to worry about.

From what I understand from the recruiter GL (great lakes) is closed for the Christmas Holidays...I'm pretty sure that your son will be finished just before then. Also, I'm sorry about what you're going through because it was just a few days ago my son left and it doesn't get any easier but you've found N4M (navy 4 moms) and we're here for you. Hug him lots before he goes, it's a big adjustment for sure.
My son is spec ops but he doesn't leave until Feb or as soon as a spot opens. He brother left the 4th and is a corpsmen.
What is your sailor doing?
