OH! I am so excited to hear that! My son played Green Youth Football, from K - 8th grade. We have tons of wonderful friends from that area. I always said I was a green wannabe!!! :) We drove from Canton to Green every foot ball season. My husband was involved and I was team Mom most years. I love that sort of thing. It was important to us. I am sure if your son played My son would know him. That would be great!!! My son is in Basic right now. Firefighting week and Gas chamber week. I so have to get to work now! Please be sure to keep in touch.
Hi I am in Canton pretty close to Waco.
Hi gjsmom. I from Alliance. actually the Marlington SD. My son just graduated on Friday from RTC. He is in Pensacola still waiting to hear from him. By the way Im Liz.
It is so nice to hear from you. I just love this site. I have just been on for a short time, but I love it. My Son graduates Sept. 10, I am counting down the days and minutes. My depression has finally turned to excitement, but still when EVER I talk about him it seems like I just BALL! LOL This truly has been the most difficult time in our lives! What is RTC? My son just graduated from Timken in Canton in June and left July 13. This summer has been a crazy summer. Then he is leaving for Meridian Mississippi for A school. Then after A school he said he gets to come home for 14 days. I cant wait. I have to get to work for now. SO nice to meet you. Talk soon! I am Carol ! :)
RTC is Recruit Training Command-Recruit Training Center.

I would bet that my daughter knows your son or may have seen him. She too would have Graduated from Timken this year. She chose to get her GED since she did not want to wait another year to start college.
My Son who leaves for BC in 21 days did grad from Timken. It was 2 yrs ago.
My daughter has been at GL since June 17th she is in ship 5 right now, she had to have some surgery and is having some jaw pain from stress. She would have PIR'd on the 13th of this month. She is still very much ready to go to BS and then to get to TX to A-school. Who was your sons recruiter? I only ask as she never seemed to know any DEPpers, other than her brother... lol
I am not sure of my son's recruiter. The station was on Whipple. My husband knows them all. My husband never meets a stranger! LOL
My son I Garland Stickel. He first was in the ROTC program at Timken, then switched to Auto Body. I told him that was a mistake knowing that he was going in the service. He always knew that is what he wanted to do. He did not want the college debt when college was over. This way he can earn his degree and not have the debt. The kid has worked since he was 14, very responsible. My daughter is 14 and goes to Lehman. I have never once had a issue with Canton, City schools. Both kids like it. I know people say OMG your child goes to Timken. I would put that school up to Jackson or Perry anytime. My son loved it. He had the choice McKinley or Timken. He made the choice when ALL his friends when to Mckinley, he went to TIMKEN! LOL You can tell I am such a PROUD MAMA. It is so nice to hear from you. I just heard on the radio about the Kessler soldier from Canton who just got killed! How sad. He was 32. So young! It is really frighting knowing our kids are out there protecting our country. I so feel bad for his family.
Well, Got to get to work for now. My son PID is 9/10/10 I just cant wait. We are leaving on Thursaday! It has been a long 8 weeks. I have gotten my letters on Wed. but did not get one yesterday. I sure hope all is well!
Talk SOON!
XOXOXO
Carol
