Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello All,
I am new to Navy for Moms and the Ohio Navy Moms group. My name is Diane and my oldest son Josh is leaving for boot camp on April 18th and his rating is Gunners Mate (GM). We live about one hour south of Columbus, Ohio (Ross County). Look forward to chatting with other Navy Mom's from Ohio and learning about what's to come for my son.

Hi Diane! My son just left today. Enjoy this last 6 weeks or so because it goes fast! We live in Westerville, a suburb of Columbus. I'll let you know how it goes. This first day was pretty hard, at least for me, though probably not for my son. He's been in DEP since last May and has been looking forward to getting started. He'll be going to SC for the Nuke program. I'm not sure of his rating. We haven't received "the call" yet, but figure it's coming soon. Good luck to your soon to be sailor!

Hi Christy,
Thank you for responding to my discussion. I am somewhat familiar with the Westerville area. Wow, your son just left this week--I hope your doing well. He's probably been too busy to think about too much more than what is before him. My son has only been in the DEP since December and he is chomping at the bit to leave. We will do our best to enjoy every day with him until he leaves :)

My son is also a Gunner's Mate. Our journey
Is just about over. His 4 year tour is up in July
He is not reenlisting as of now.
