HI! New to the Group:)
My son is at Groton finishing "A" school and headed to sub school. Is there any Cleveland or North Eastern Ohio moms out there?
Did anyone have a sailor swear in today at Columbus Meps and leave for GL BC today? would like to connect with a couple of the families that were there seeing them off this afternoon..
kimShip 03/DIV233 are you interested too? We are happy to have you join us...I got involved with Navyformoms right from the beginning too and it has gotten me through bootcamp, A School, the first deployment and return and getting ready for the next deployment.
PattiP----That is a great idea so if anyone is planning on attending the parade and walking with us let me know...friend me too I'm putting a list together and will then message details as we go along to those who confirm they will do this. So let's plan on trying to wear a Navy Mom T Shirt....Are you talking about the one at NEX that says "Navy Mom"....it's Navy Blue with Yellow print? I was on base and bought one my first time. Also try to make a poster with your son or daughters photo on it with his name, and where he's from and where's he is stationed or deployed....I think everyone would like that.
Ok. Looks like we are a go. I will get in tourch with right channels and start working on getting us booked to walk in the parade. I will give details to all of us. I'd like to friend each of you if that is ok so I can send a group email out to keep everyone posted on date, time and where we will meet. The parade is Sat. Sept 14 at 10am in Mason, Ohio. I'd like everyone to price maybe like a poster with your son or daughters photo on it and maybe put it on something we can carry. or we will put it on the side of my sons truck. We will want his name and where he is from and where he is serving. If depolyed put that. It will be awesome. We can pass out the Navyfor moms packet that has a magnet for the refrig on it. I will get those. If you want to bring some candy to pass out to kids that line the parade as we pass them too you can do that. Let's show our support for our military strong. I will friend request each of you and anyone else that responds. If you have little neices or nephews or brothers or sisters that have a bicycle they want to decorate red white and blue and walk and ride with us that's fine. Any family member. is fine. I'll make a banner that says Navyformoms. The parade is a Heritage parade....showing heritage and they have asked for military representation too so I feel like we can be there. It's a yearly parade our city does to commemorate different heritages...I know for me our sonis third generation Navy and I think it's good to show that Ohio has a military force represented serving our nation
Haven't been on here for a bit. Son was in Afghanistan last year and I've spent alot of time back and forth to Mississippi to visit him since he got home. They are leaving again soon for another deployment. I wanted to ask Ohio Moms a question. I live in Mason. We are having a huge parade Sept 14 called the Heritage Day and Bicycle Parade. It's been around for years and grown. I'd like to see if any Navy moms would walk in it with your family members to represent your soldier and pass out Navyformom pamphlets that I can get from the recruiting office? We could have a banner, and also a color guard maybe from the recruiting office. I'd really like to represent Navyfor moms so other moms that don't know about us can be encouraged and learn about us. Anyone interested? I was going to make a banner, we could have my sons pick up truck decorated and put photos of our soldiers on it and where they are from. Where they are serving. We could let younger brothers or sisters of the soldier decorate their bikes in red white and blue or navy and yellow and ride with ustoo. I really want to do this but need other moms to come. Anyone interested?
Hello everyone...Navy Mom from Willowick, Ohio, small town east of Cleveland.. My Sailor's PIR date was June 21st..he is currently settled in Mississippi for A-school, then off to Virginia where he will be stationed on ship.
