Mom of 2 sailors: Thanks THEY wish THEY had known too...they feel like ducks out of water! HA...they will return on Sunday...so thank you for your very nice offer..they would have loved to go tubing and boating!
JULIE: I gave them info about Kings Island...they like that kind of stuff too.
They've asked me to look for college concerts, comedians in town, or some 'live bands' sort of thing. They know about the military museum and Oregon Street...historic district and nightclubs, eateries, right? East of town?
They also like adventure, and would love kayak tours, or bungee jumping, or canoeing...or ??
Not big on the night club/drinking scene...but they probably would like to hear some sort of music tonight or tomorrow night and talk to some Ohio gals of course!

Storymam,
I wish I had known sooner. We are about 1 1/2 outside of Dayton. We could have invited them down to go out on the boat and go tubing. But I just commited us to going to Louisville, KY for the weekend. How long are they in Dayton for?

Hi there...just a question....The Navy has sent my son to Wright Patterson Air Force Base on some sort of training/something - something thing. He has the weekend there with some free time for a day and half. He's with another sailor too. What can these fellas do for a day and half in Dayton? Nightclubs? Movie theater near the base?
Malls? Theme parks? I doubt they'll rent a car, just use taxi or walk. Any ideas for two sailors 'deposited' at Wright-Patterson?
(I'm from Washington state) THANK YOU OHIO MOMS

Linda- your son's letter brought tears to my eyes, I'm happy for him that he knows himself well enough to know this wasn't the path for him, he sounds like a very smart young man and will find his path in life in his own time, Best of Luck to you and your son.

Linda - just wanted to let you know you and your recruit are in my thoughts and prayers - however things turn out I hope it's what he wants and that he will be happy. Best of luck. Teresa

Brenda - We got our pictures after PIR, i think they had a choice to send them to home or if parents were coming to PIR they could get them then.

Linda,
I also had my nephew draw pictures and send them to my son. And I would print out prayers that Brenda put on another group site here and send them to my son. It seemed to help.
