Terbeasch,
When we went to our daughter's PIR last September, we stayed at the Sleep Inn in Lake Bluff. It was a very nice hotel and they provided a shuttle to the base the morning of PIR so all we did was walk out the front of the hotel, catch one of several vans and did not have to worry about waiting in the long line to get inspected and then find a place to park. After PIR we caught the van back, with our sailor and then headed out for our day. I highly recommend the Sleep Inn.

Let me try this one more time - for anyone in the Columbus/Central Ohio area who might like to get together on Sunday Aug. 30 from 2-4, the Panera is at Bethel and Olentangy nor Bethel and Sawmill. I'll get this right yet!

Sorry I was so incomplete. It would be Sunday August 30th from 2-4. DA, I can't believe I didn't put a city. This would be Columbus. This place is just off 315 on the northwest area of Columbus.

Are there any Central Ohio Moms ( or Dads, siblings, wives) that would like to get together in the month of August? I have access to a community room at the Panera around Bethel and Sawmill Rd for that day (Sunday afternoon) from 2:00 to 4:00. Bring pictures, stories, share information, visit... Just let me know if you are interested and able to come. If you are new to the Navy, please come, it just helps talking to people who have gone through what you are now!

Melissa44646,
Hello!! My son was in Virginia Beach his first 4 year enlistment (at Oceana) and now he is there again going through IS school. We've been there several times. It's a nice place with lots of things to do and places to go. If you want to stay on the beach there are lots and lots of hotels right on the beach, but they are a little expensive - to be expected. If you do a google search on hotels in Virginia Beach, VA you will find some that are out in the city a bit and those are more reasonable. We are going there again next month and are staying at a Days Inn in the city. If you want more info let me know how I can help you!!

Rezaclori,
No we cannot use last names of our sailors on this site. It's for their safety.
