rorysmom- What rate is your son? Chris is an ET and will not probably class up until Jan for A school also.He says at this rate he will be in GL until Jan 2012. He is not real excited about that either.Just wondering if they are at the same place.

{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} Teachertoo, I go to water aerobics and water gym and they play the patriotic songs for July 4th week, Memorial day week and Veterans Day week. I cry through class every time. Luckily we are in the pool so no one notices the tears lol. They are "Killing me Smalls"

Thank you Lala for the info! That is the perfect week for my birthday!!! I also love the idea of renting a house!

Bobbi Ray- The Navy will station them within 200 miles of each other. That is the only promise they make and they probably have loop holes they could use to get out of that if they wanted to. Right now it looks like he will get to go to VA as well. Probably Norfolk and she is at NAS Oceana VA. She is looking for an apartment between the 2 bases. Only one of them can have sea duty and the other has to be shore duty. Since she is with a squadron attached to a carrier then he will have shore duty. Of course that could all be reversed later, especially once they have kids I think.

Rorysmom- we have been to Pensacola in July lots and lots of times. It is not that bad especially if you are near the beaches. The July show is at Pensacola Beach instead of NAS. Get there very very early to get parking and a good spot on the beach. The show is right over the water. And you can go the day before as well because that is when they practice for the show. And that show is always the weekend after the 4th of July Holidays. Be sure and go to Fort Pickens, it is pretty cool. Also if you go through VRBO you can rent a house for a week with a pool cheaper than a hotel room. :-)

Hi Bobbi...if you run into Rory, give him a big hug from us all, lol! He is over at Corry. I would assume he will be at the air show. We live in So. Cal and there use to be a Blue Angels show near us every year. It was so wonderful and exhilirating to see those beautiful planes. I had thought that this would be a perfect trip for all to share something we all loved years ago! I hear they also have one in July at NAS so maybe we'll battle the Pensacola humidity and go then...I can use that as my birthday gift as my birthday is July 9...that may give me a little leverage! We have not seen our sailor since the 8 hours we got with him at PIR so I am hoping and praying his leave comes thru for the holidays!

I am giving sailor hugs..so maybe I will run into ur sailors and they will get a hug. I'm gonna tell them their mom sent it.
Rorysmom-I hope your sailor gets to come home. Have you not seen him since PIR? I am happy ur sailor classed up. Hopefully that time will just fly by for him. My sailor is the same way as yours is just wants to get his life going also.
Lala- I will be so glad to see him. I'm scared to death about where he is going to be stationed. He doesnt get to choose or even see a list of places to go to, he just has to go where they tell him. I have a question?? Will loran and her hubby ever be stationed together? I always wondered how that works when 2 sailors get married.

So jealous Bobbi Ray...that was my plan all along from the minute I came home from GL but, unfortunately, it just didn't work out and my heart is sad. But the better news is that my sailor finally has a class up date...January 17. He is not a happy sailor right now as it has and will be a very loooooooong 6 months for him to start A school, but we are trying to get him home for the holidays which will really help to break up that wait! His A and C schools are a total of 210 class room days so he still has a ways to go...he has never been very good in the patience department but I just keep reminding him this is in God's hands and He is in control! Not much comfort for a 22 year old wanting to get his life going! Well, the devil Santa Ana winds are ablowing here in So. Calif. Can barely get the dogs outside! My allergies are going berserk! Hope you are all having a better day!
