Gigi my daughter also put in for a chit to come home on Labor Day weekend. She is worried that she might not get it for some reason. She just sounds so homesick. If she doesn't get it I am going to Pensacola to see her. She is also thinking about taking her car there but they have to have a place to leave it so I don't know. Her grandfather lives in Milton but that is about an hour away and probably an expensive cab ride. He no longer drives. This whole classing up thing is so confusing. I figured once they classed up they would stay with that group all the way through their classes. I am so clueless.
teachertoo- I want to go to Boston so bad. Hopefully next summer or if not maybe around one of the holidays. Thanks everyone for all your thought and prayers.

Good morning all! So happy for all of the sailors classing up..my CTT son is finding the "reality" of life with the Navy...you just never know what is going to happen! He has no idea when he will class up...it could still be weeks. There is a CTT class graduating tomorrow so I am hoping he will get into his classes soon. He hasn't even been moved over to Corry where they are held...he is still on hold at NAS. He is a yeoman and has been given a good but tough job...he is in charge of preparing the watch bill and making sure everyone is in place and dressed as they should be. He had to be up at 4 a.m. this morning to make sure all was well.
Wow Lala...isn't it interesting that she is drawn to this young man with all the qualities she usually doesn't care for...it is definitely the emotions and the separation anxiety. He is telling her all the things she needs to hear right now and she is taking it in like a sponge. When she gets out into the world, I truly believe this will all settle down and probably end. God bless you all!

My son also classed up for ATT school today. We are leaving to go to Pensacola tomorrow nite to see him...It will be okay, Lala you know you raised a smart daughter and she will do the right thing. She needs your support right now. If you are supporting her into making the right decisionand standing by her she will always say my mom was always there for me no matter what... She has to make her own choices and her own mistakes now...Stand by her and love her all the way through.....Sorry..just saying..

Thanks Ruthann, a long long engagement is my hope as well. And Dustin's girl yes she is the one who said she couldn't believe others were getting married. But she thinks engaged is okay I guess. And it was more like a 360 instead of a 180 lol. I just want her to spend 6 months to a year where she sees him every single day and spends lots of time with him because I know if she does she will not want to marry him. He is way to controlling and demanding and very jealous. Not something she likes at all. Most of her friends are and have always been guys and any guy she has ever dated had to understand that and be okay with it. Not many are. He also has a temper and I hate the thoughts of that. I lived with that for years and years and hated it. But she has to open her eyes and see for herself. I can't do it for her. So I just pray and hope that whatever is right will be what happens.

Wow Lala, what a shock. Espeically since you posted not that long ago that she was surprised about everyone getting engaged and married and they should wait...that was you that posted that wasn't it? What a complete 180. I hope for the best for you all. Keep us updated.

thanks so much rorysmom, you have no idea what that means to me. She just finished with the first set of classes and is now on hold for the second part. Her last name has been putting her at the end of lines since she played t-ball lol. She is not happy with waiting but for me it is okay. It just means she will be in Pensacola longer and more chances for me to see her. She won't class up to this next part until the 20th I think and her good friend from bootcamp who is also an AO already classed up because her name starts with and N. So it looks like they won't be in classes together anymore. It is all so confusing and so different for each and every sailor. You never know what to expect.

I can't even imagine the emotions you are going thru!!! Praying, praying, praying for you all! You were so looking forward to this vacation too! She is a smart girl...it will probably have to be a loooooonnnnngggg engagement with him just going into BC and her getting ready to be stationed somewhere! I truly believe you are right and her emotions got to her too! We're all here for you!

Yeah, I think there must be something in the water. He told her that he didn't like how many guys there are looking at her and that he figured he better put a ring on it before someone else did. How romantic is that? I am just having a hard time believing that she said yes. It is so not like her. I think she is just very lonely and homesick. He joined the Navy too. That is how they met. They were in DEP together. Although they kind of knew each other before that but they didn't hang out or date until 3 weeks before she left for GL. He leaves for bootcamp in 25 days. And I expect him to try and get stationed wherever she is when he finishes A school. This has just been such a stressful week. I feel like crying all the time and I just really can't wait to be home.

Hey everyone! Just got home from Charleston. Back to work tomorrow. Alex has fallen in love with his new computer and has started acting like he might want to be skyping forever. Beyond that, as Katie says, he continues his "bromance" with Allen and is anxiously waiting for a single room when his roommate leaves.
