My Son Richard is in his 3 week of boot camp and will head over to A-school for OS training... I'm very proud and excited for him.  If anyone would like to share any advice of what to expect when heading into A-school, please share... Thanks everyone!

M.J's mom.....GL is like a big college campus and their rooms are like dorm rooms.  They have rooms and a common area.  I forget how many to a room, either 2 or 4.  They have their own restaurants and clubs also. We got a pass and could go in so we were lucky to see his room.  It was amazing to me.

Hang in there M.J's mom....Graduation day is so worth the wait and you will be so proud.  My son graduated last Feb and I am still learning the process.  But I am so proud of my son as he is doing fantastic.  Best of luck to you and your son.

Hi, my son is an OS stationed in JAX.  When his ship goes underway, he has an approved Navy email that we can communicate through.  There are certain rules to follow but at least we have the communication.  Hope this helps to answer some questions.

my daughter said it was more like a dorm room. there were three girls in her room, they each had a closet. She said though that she never had same roommate for more than a week or two-that was annoying to her because you just get to know someone and they move on...the area they are in looks very much like a college campus. You will be able to spend the weekend with him but he will have to be back each evening around 9:30, and you will have to go in and sign him in. Have a great weekend with him!
