I am one of the lucky ones who has my son home today the day after Thanksgiving. I found out I will have him for Christmas. We did not have him last year as he went to boot camp on Dec 1. I know there will be more holidays without him so feeling grateful for the ones I have.
Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Hi eljac913, Welcome to Heads at Ease! I am assuming that your son has made it thru boot camp and might be in school??
Anyway, you are in for an adventure of a lifetime! My son served 5 years and got out in Feb 2011.
Hi! I am so glad you friended me - Did you see the new picture I put up twice because I don't know what I am doing of my son Joe. Kinda Handsome, huh? Well, Mom's always think so. I hope we can meet sometime because we are not that far away from each other. Do you have two
sons in the Navy? Linda

Hello! Hopefully we will win "Trivia Tuesday" this week. That would be awesome! Only 11 days left! So excited!
I think they may go on Th/F (overnight drill) 26th/27th. Calls would come in on the afternoon of the 27th.
Thank you so much!!!!
The smurfs are the recruits first uniform when they arrive for processing at boot camp. They consist of blue sweat pants, and sweatshirt with gold lettering and of course the recruit navy baseball hat. The recruits wear these until they are fit for their nwu (blue camo uniform) and have earned the right to wear them. Most divisions after the first couple of weeks graduate to wearing their nwu.
Hi Ellen,
I have recieved 9 letters as of yesterday. I was hoping for a phone call on Christmas, but I have not had any calls, except for right when he arrived. Nice to meet you! Hopefully we can win the trivia and get a picture of our division on Tuesday! :)

Hi,
I noticed that your son has the same PIR 2/3/12 as my husband! Glad to finally be seeing people with his PIR on here. Only 54 more days to go!
