Wonderful phone call this morning from my son...he made OS2. Not bad for a sailor who's been IA from his rate for almost 2 years. BRAVO ZULU Christian! Very proud mom here right now!
Thank you for the suggestion, I will be sure to sign up there. I'm glad to here your son is happy with his job. I really think it will be good for my son, he is ready to go and wants to get bc over with. I also was checking out the Tiger Cruise, is both parents allowed to attend?LOL
Hi, everyone. New to this site. Have been sitting here reading for hours! My son leaves for bc June 13, right after HS. I was really worried and sad (he is my only child) but after reading all the positive posts I have to say I'm very excited for him.
This site has really put my mind to ease.
Thanks & God Bless Our Military!
Thank you Kathy. He is in Dam Neck, Virginia. He found a way to get to Washington DC. He is going this weekend and taking a tour.
Thank you everyone. He wants to visit Washington DC but is not sure of his transportation method. He said a cab may be his only choice and it would be expensive. So not sure what his plans are now.
While he is here( I live in Stafford, Virginia) he should visit Washington, D.C.
HI everyone, My son is about to go to C school in Virginia. Does anyone know of any sightseeing things that are a must see while he is there? Thanks.
My son PIR'd on Feb. 9th, waited about 10 days for class to start and graduates on April 13th. He has 21 days off, then deploys. His C School will come after he goes out. They will have an option to create a wish list for places to be assigned within two weeks of starting class. My understanding is that A School graduation is a small ceremony in a room, kind of like when they swore in before heading to bootcamp. I'm all the way across the country so can't be there for that graduation, but he assured me that it was not something I should come for since he will be home shortly thereafter. My boy is in Farragut as well. Terrible cell reception but isn't it nice to hear from them? If you have any other questions, I will try to answer based on my limited experience. Thank heaven for this site!
Ms Wanda:
A-School can be 8-10 weeks
He may have to wait a week or two for enough OS'S to P.I.R for a new class to begin then it's 21 day's of C-School.
