Hi mikesmom,

The A school for OS is in Great Lakes, correct?  Is it 10 weeks?  What kind of "stuff" can your son have there?  We were thinking of bringing my son his laptop, cell phone and anything else that we can with us when we go to PIR.  I understand that he will have to check in before going out on Liberty on that Friday of graduation.  How long did you get with your son after graduation?  Is the school pretty fast paced?  Does your son know what he will do after A school is over?  Sorry for all of the questions...

Thank you.

Hi! I'm new here. My son finished A School for OS and is awaiting his official orders while on hold at GL. He was told he was going to Sasebo Japan in Feb. He will be working with the 7th Fleet on the Admiral's staff. Don't know anything else yet. Lori

Thanks for letting me vent!! These groups have been very helpful in answering questions and it is some comfort that I am not the only one that feels this way. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and that we all get phone calls today!!

Leigh-hang in there I am sure it's on its way. The mail can be so crazy this time of year. This will be a hard holiday for all of us without our sons/daughters. I know myself sitting here writing to you this morning I feel sad that my son is not going to come down the hall looking for Christmas breakfast! But I know he is where how wants to be right now. I am so very proud of him and I am quite sure you are of your son. You have a wonderful holiday, and if you feel like talking just send me a message!
