My son got his orders on Christmas Eve last year! It wasnt the present I wanted, but I am very happy now that I know what he's doing.

Matt likes the area and the base - he is not too crazy about the weather though.  Growing up in Texas does not prepare you for cold weather.  The whole area is really pretty very lush and green and of course you can see all of the different mountain ranges.  I hope to go back next summer.

Thanks Cathy, we are thinking of visiting next spring or summer, depending on his schedule.  How do your sons and daughter like the area and the base?

Welcome Cindy!  My son is with VQ1 and has been in WA for over a year now.  He will be coming home for Christmas this year.   I had a chance to visit WA for the first time a couple of months ago and it is a beautiful state.

Thanks for the welcome.  I have also joined the Washington moms.  My son so far has only verbal orders he will be with a squadron VP-1, he will probably come home before he has to report to Whidbey but we don't know any of this until he gets written orders.  If he can't come home after A school, then hopefully for Christmas.  He said something tonight about his squadron deploying soon, but again no details.  He is an AD.  My name is Cindy

welcome. We're a small group, but you've got to start somewhere.

We are going to Whidbey for Thanks Giving. And if Chris gets his leave aproved he will be home for Christmas also.

Chris is attached to FRC and works in the AT Shop, Matt and Lauren are in Squadrons. (correct me if I'm wrong).   Do you know where your son will be working? The P-3 is a little different than other orders so we will be glad to help sort out what we can.  I also recomend that you join the Washington Moms.

Hi ladies!  I'm new, my son will be in Whidbey Island soon.  He finishes A school this week.  His orders have him going to Whidbey to work on the P-3 Orion.  We live on the East side of the country but it looks beautiful up there.

Glad you had a nice visit Kim!  Matt told me that you came by and he is enjoying his gift.  He will be coming home for Christmas this year.  Spent last night trying to find airline tickets for him and his gf.  I didn't have any luck finding the Love Comes Softly series at the book sale.  They only had two of her books and neither were in the series but I am going to keep looking. Are you going to WA for Christmas?

Kim how was your visit with Lauren?

That sounds like fun.  So her and Matt are on the same schedule now.  If I have any luck on the books I will get her address.  I will send you Matt's number.
