My son graduated 02/18/11 in Ship03 Div080.  He is in Pensacola Florida, waiting for shcool to start.  We shipped him some of his personal items, phone, ipod etc...

He sounds good and likes the weather.

Honey - we're all learning every day!! Do you know her rate? Also, are you on Facebook? There are groups on there for Navy moms and more.

My son's girlfriend just graduated bootcamp Jan 28 and is now attending A school in Pensacola.  Just thought it'd be fun to try and see if I can follow how she's doing and be up on the lingo and what she will probably be experiencing.  I am very new to the whole concept of chatting on-line and being part of a group like this. Also very new to Navy.

Found out having a car on base is a privilege that has to be earned. She is not there yet but this site is great for information. Thank you all

My daughter will be arriving there on Wednesday. Does anyone know if she can have her own vehicle on the base? If so I will be driving it down there for her, so any advise on hotels?

I am looking for a hotel that is not a dump, any suggestions? I want to arrive on the 28th of July. I have been trying to make reservations at the lodge but have been on forever hold.

Hello, everyone. My son will be arriving in Pensacola on Monday 12Apr10 for AC (air traffic controller) school. We're not sure when the start date will be. Anyone else out there have family or friend already in or will be attending AC school? Any words of wisdom we could pass on to our sailor? Thank you, and have a great day. My husband retired after 20 years as a Sr. Chief, and I spend 3.5 yrs in the USAF, and 11.5 yrs in the USAFR. We are truly proud of our son, because we know that with our prayers and his wisdom & knowledge he can reach undefined heights!! ;-)
