The military has referred me the the moving company that will be handling our move. They (the moving company) states on their webpage that they will not be responsible for electronics that are broken during the move. My husband has thousands of dollars worth of guitar equipment, does that mean if they break it the military also will not pay to reimburse him for his stuff? I am going to try to fit all of his gutairs in my car, which is pushing it as it is. I can not be expected to take all of his stuff with me! I just want to be at ease knowing that if something happens to it that they will cover it!

Has anyone handled a claim with broken electronics???

I am already at a disposition here because i am a hair stylist and they will not move any liquids so that means i am going to have to move all of my supplies myself...

It it clearly states on the paper work they are not responsible for certain items, than they are NOT resposible for the item if it is damaged.

I would call the PPO that your move is coming out of and ask them about it. to be sure. considering its expensive. If not ask them about doing a partial dity move. Maybe that would be an option

i wish i could do a partial dity move, but i can't. my husband isn't here and i can't lift the equipment myself and i don't have the proper vehicle to pull a uhaul or fit it in my car, & i can't drive 2 vehicles myself. it is what it is, i just hope they don't damage it!

just wanted to post this here in case anyone has a question about this during their move too:  They suggested that i record video evidence of the electronics in use. I am going to state the date in the video and show them in use. I am also going to take pictures, and write down every serial number/make model of all of my electronics.

might be better to date imprint the video or some people use the daily newspaper. Just so they dont argue it :) but yes they do suggest that for anything. some people take pictures of their furniture.

i wonder if i can imprint the video with a date...its on my digital camera and i'm not too smart with it. the newspaper will work though! lol thanks!

The military always referres people out in town for the move...if the movers they higher won't be responsible for a certain item if it breaks the miltiary won't either.  Recommned you talk with your insurance company and get moving insurance for any all of your stuff, and ask them how they would like things documented.

oh! Angie that made me think call USAA! they cover stuff during military moves if there are certain requirements met!
