Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

repacking boxes & stuff in 2 locations
Hi, my son got orders to Whidbey island for his first assignment out of A school but was put on hold for security clearance processing. He was told this could take several month. Since my son & DIL's apartment lease in Georgia is up on 12/31 & the rent was due to increase by $250/month, they decided to move her and all their stuff to her father's house about 10 miles away. So I have been helping her pack & move boxes to that house. We have packed the boxes well enough for us to cart across town but they always planned to do a Navy move (not PPM) so the boxes aren't packed well enough to survive that. Anyway we have packe about 3/4 of the stuff and moved about 1/2 the boxes. Then amazingly yesterday he was told he now has a detatch date in 2 weeks & needs to be in WA by the end of the month. So I have 2 main questions - will they repack the stuff from the boxes or will we need to set up tables & take the stuff out of the boxes so they can repack & will they go to 2 places to pick up or do we need to bring those boxes back to the apartment (which is what I expect). She is frazzled & he is trying to get time during the day to go see about arranging the move.

They will only pack out from one location. Packing it yourselves means it voids the damage/loss insurance. You can open the boxes for inspection, or empty them into piles to be reboxed . As long as everything is clean, somewhat organized, and in one spot, it should be alright. If she departs before movers can be scheduled, your son can give you a power of attorney to sign for the move.
