Abuon18, we did get married after his orders. I appreciate the help!

Donika, I think the best thing to do is do research via zillow.com, ahrn.com, google.com see what the review say. Find a facebook group for your base. Sometimes they have wives groups and or mom groups. They can give you good information. I also check the better business bureau .

Hey Marcy!!  Haha thank God we do keep getting younger, no gray hairs or anything ( I wish!!) LoL

We are actually here for a good long while now, my husband was on a ship stationed here, but just detached and is headed to OCS in a week or so, and when that's over will be headed to BUD/s and that whole deal, so it will be at least two more years or so here, but MAYBE then a possibility of Hawaii, we will see!!

Hi Donika!
Your first question, about the Navy paying for your move, depends on when he got his orders to San Diego. Did he get them before or after you got married? If he got them before you got married the Navy will not pay to move you.

I live in San Diego and would be happy to help with more info on apartments and such, if you'd like to PM me some more specific info as to what you're looking for!

Hi all! My husband and I will be PCSing to San Diego early next month. This is our first one, he mentioned the Navy might not move our stuff because we got married at the end of 2012. Is this true? Where can I find out more information? Also does anyone know of nice apartment complexes in San Diego? He will be at NAS North Island. Thanks for any info!

No kidding it's flown by!  (Thank goodness I keep getting younger lol)   Will you guys be up for the next PCS one of these days?

Comment by TropikalParadize on February 7, 2013 at 11:19pm

Hey Marcy!! We are great, SD is so wonderful!  We love it here, almost been here for 2 years now!! Time sure does fly!  There's so much to do, tons of outdoorsy stuff, and of course the weather is usually pretty perfect!  Its been gray lately, but nothing compared to normal winter weather in most other places!!

Comment by Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom on February 7, 2013 at 11:07pm

Hey Tropical, how are you doing in SD?  Such a great place to be, I would think!

Comment by Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom on February 7, 2013 at 11:01pm

True - however, these budget cuts don't bode well for sailors overall, though, or the economy in SE Virginia - very concerning.

Comment by TropikalParadize on February 7, 2013 at 10:58pm

Wow their deployment cancelled?? Sounds like those are the luckiest families in the navy right now!  What a huge blessing!!
