Can you imagine?  Her stuff was auctioned just like that reality show, apparently. Hey, sending good thoughts to USS Truman sailors and families - their deployment, scheduled for tomorrow, was cancelled just YESTERDAY.  Leases cancelled, cars and stuff stored, cellphones on hold, kids sent to grandparents - sailors et al scrambling to cope with the change of plans.

Her attorney recommends that when moving -

• Photograph your possessions.

• Do your own inventory; don’t rely on the moving company’s inventory, which lists box size, not contents.

• Store photos and inventory in a safe place — with someone you trust or in the cyber cloud. Don’t put them with your other household goods.

Live ashore at Great Lakes requires a school of longer than 20 weeks, not counting hold times, and I think he must have earned at least phase two.  What seems to be usual is the spouse has to do the house hunting for a rental.  He needs to ask if he will be eligible for military housing.  I think Great Lakes offers it to married student sailors, but don't know if there is anything open just now (ot if they changed policy again).

I have no idea. I know normally they don't move dependents to a school unless its longer than 6 months. My husband never lived on a boat because he's air crew and its never been required at his units.  Since he's married I'm sure its higher priority to have him live off boat than some others (sometimes single sailors) I know that there is often rules about any one under E5 living off post.

Hello Ladies, I wanted to ask if anyone knows the requirements for live ashore? I know that he has to fill out the pack and put in the chit but I want to know what are the requirements in order for him to actually be approved? (FYI we been married for almost a year, with a daughter and a baby on the way, and his school is going to be longer then 6 months, also he is E2 if any of that helps)
