Well he only has 1 year left in Bahrain so I am just at home still until our next duty station since I couldn't move over there because he is still an E3. He took his E4 exam in March so we are patiently waiting for the results. I am just nervous if he didn't pick up then when we pick orders we have chances of not being together for another 2 years since he has to do Sea Duty again and you can't bring spouses overseas if you are not E4 or higher.

Jenny, Sorry to hear that. But its very common. Travel to see him you get the chance to. You won't be able to be with him during Sea duty? Or is he stationed in Bahrain for his sea duty?  My husbands sea duty only meant he went on lots of shorts tours and was prepping for a regular deployment.

My husband is currently stationed in Bahrain for 2 years unaccompanied, with one year left. We didn't get married until after he had already gotten orders. He is up to pick new orders starting in August. He has to do 2 more years of sea duty, and I'm just stressed out that he will be sent somewhere else that I won't be able to join him because of his rank. Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?

CopsmansGirl08, they will only move your families things from one location.

I have not read through this it may have some info. http://doni.daps.dla.mil/Directives/01000%20Military%20Personnel%20...

I know that they will not move people from Pensacola, FL to Milton FL (65 min drive because it commutable).

Hi ladies. My hubby is stationed in great lakes for two tests and we just recently got married (a week ago today) and he was doing the paperwork to bah and since right now I am living in Wisconsin we have separation pay but they told him since I live so close I will have to move down there at some point. Which I was planning on doing but not for like another six months I have custody issues I need to sort out with my sons father. Does anyone know exactly how thy can force me to move? I'm not complaining I'm just wanting a policy or something so when I do go to court for custody I can show it to the judge.

She might be able to stay with you if she is listed as a live-in caretaker of your child on your sailor's Family Care Plan.  But honestly, you can't have live-ins who are not dependents of the active duty service member.  I think six months is the longest she can legally stay, and they'd not figure her in as a dependent when assigning housing by number of bedrooms.  You would need to rent offbase in that case.

http://www.cnic.navy.mil/CNIC_HQ_Site/WhatWeDo/FleetandFamilyReadin...

He would need to ad her as a military dependent, which is very difficult to do with an adult.  You'd have to prove she needs you to care for her for over 51% of her needs.
