ok, i'M GETTING FRUSTRATED....MY hubby has already had his Live Ashore approved...he told me that when he went to ask for the move counseling that the guy looked at him like he was crazy...no matter who he asks the  response is the same *glazed over look*...So now I turn to you my fellow wifeys, We want to do a PPM, are there forms besides the Live Ashore that hubby needs to fill out for us to get moved? How do we get the money from them before the move? What are we missing?!...*starting to freak out*

Anyone in San Diego? I'm moving out there in about a month and would love to talk to you! :)

Anti M thank you! Thats what I thought bc I know a lot of ppl PCS without having a place to live bc they look when they get there! So I was confused.

I am worried abt giving him tranqualizers. He is an 11 yr old black pug which is really old for a black pug especially since he was abused for his first 8 years :( he has tons of health problems but he does have his own bottle of baby benadryl and a baby dropper :) lol. He will be more stressed that the other dog is in the back seat with him. She is too crazy for him. lol

They don't require a set address, just a command.  How could they require an address if you aren't there yet?  Start googling phone numbers for his base, like Family Services, and PSD and so on, and see if you can get any answers directly.

See if you can get tranquilizers from a vet for your pug.  It makes life easier for you both.

I love the cross country drive! Although I am not looking forward to our next one lol It will be from Oklahoma to Virginia, with no hubby and a pug that has anxiety and hates car rides and a 2 yr old german shep/rott mix that loves car rides. lol I have a question do you know how far in advance you can get DLA and Travel perdiem?? My husband was told that we couldnt get the DLA until like 30 days before I move and only when I had a set address in Virginia. His ship is getting a change of homeport so I will be moving while they are deployed and meet him there, and we are moving on original orders not a CHOC. But I plan on going over and looking at a few places then deciding what I want. So I would stay in a hotel for a few days possibly. I would like to get this all sorted out before the ship leaves instead of tryin to do it while he is deployed.

The big cross-country drives are not all that bad.  Just take your time and don't panic.  Enjoy America!  Try to find a co-driver if you really are fearful, they can fly back.

Castle Acres, the 3 br have a smaller yard then the 2 br houses. The yard is big enough for our german shepherd but i still take him for walks everyday so he can strech his legs lol, theres also a dog park nearby so i dont feel like a horrible mom lol.

Sweet!!! That's what they are telling us!!! All we want is a yard? What neighborhood did you get?
Comment by Kac46047 on October 27, 2011 at 8:51pm
origionally it was a 1-3 month wait. We ended up getting a 3 br 2.5 bath and its jsut my husband and I.... My neighbors however have 2 kids and got a 2 br 1.5 bath. I dunno how that works but I guess its first come first serve kinda thing. I love my house though!
