Start a must have box (read our personal tips) http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pcsingmoving/forum/topics/weird-an...

Have you decided what type of move you'll be having I really suggest you go through and read out forum discussion there are some super useful advice and lines and information in them.

If your moving your self SPACE BAGS! If not don't do to much because the moving company should pack everything (except food items, candles, chemicals, and cleaning supplies, if you don't want to start from scratch plan room in your vehicles) and then unpack items. Do not let them leave until they unpack and put everything away Tell them what and where too put your stuff. That is what the government is paying them for.

Brady was once given 3 days to move. Our friend Brad has a wife and two kids they were give 2 weeks to move from Jacksonville to San Diego. Brady was told he had to report in Tucson 4 weeks and 2 days after his school was over (but he had 67 leave days on the clock.

So I'm pretty sure its pretty varied.

about how long does it take to get orders? his school is only 4 weeks?
Comment by Sweet*Southern*Lady on November 14, 2010 at 10:42am
I don't think you'll have a problem brady took a week of leave time right in the middle of a cross country move. so technically we moved for 21 days. He was not penalized.

I would doubt it's a problem but I'm not an expert AT ALL...I'd document everything you do day by day with receipts, maybe even photos.

Does anyone know if there may be a problem getting reimbursed if the rental truck is rented outside of the dates given? I.E. My husband told... the moving office that I would leave the 19th of November and arrive via vehicle the 23rd or November... That apparently translated to the Navy that the personal property would leave and arrive the same time - which was a miscommunication as it was supposed to be the personal property leaves the 15th and arrives the 18th... We were going to rent the U-Haul truck on the 14th to pack it and everything and then the U-Haul contract is for 9 days so it sort of blankets the time frame the Navy thought. My husband is just concerned if the U-Haul is rented any day other than November 18th or 19th we won't be reimbursed..

That's all she said, and none of us are familiar with it either. I'll try to find what I can, too.
