For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Janie, I'm sorry to hear you're missing items,. thats sucks. However, it has to be on the inventory, or it doesn't exist to the Navy. The timeframe used to be 71 or 77 days, but I'd have to google to find the current policy. You're just past the deadline I think.
Sad reality for those of you yet to have a packout. Never let them pack small valuables. Hand carry those, or have them mailed to you.

Does anyone know the time line that you have to report missing items after a move? I moved here the first week of May and finally went through everything. I am missing a cell phone and an IPod touch... course as to if I have missed a time frame to report it or not. It's not even on the inventory list. My mom was the one there when the guys where packing. She said that they pointed out that they packed it but said they couldn't put the small electronics on the list? I'm a little confused as to why they couldn't put the serial numbers on the list.

I can start a new list, but I'm swamped this week.... dad died on the 21st and I'm trying to get everything in order. I will, just be patient with me.

Do we need a new list? POA, file folder to hold orders, extra certificates (birth, marriage), receipts?
