Ok, So we're moving to Tucson, some of the NROTC guys (and maybe gals i'm not sure how many girls will be there) will do team building helping move in the new members. Besides having iced down water, soda, beer, and ice tea or lemonade. Chips and dip/salsa. What other easy things can I have on hand. Should I order pizza or pick up KFC, Or wait a week or two and have home cooked meal for them . Any idea? Thanks.

Bah can take 4 to 6 weeks to show up, and you will get the back pay all at once.

The wait for orders varies greatly, as some rates are "backed up". If you are on the orders (accompanied), the Navy will pay for the move, although details vary on that too!

The hotline sounds amazing!

Chelsea, the CNIC homepage (link in my prior post) has a "Navy Services FamilyLine." You can follow that link to this page "New to the Navy" with various links including "First 10 Things You Should Do When You Marry Into The Navy." http://cnic.navy.mil/CNIC_HQ_Site/WhatWeDo/FamilyLine/NewToTheNavy/... That page says you can also "call us toll free at 1-877-673-7773 or email us at nsfamline@aol.com Monday - Friday between 10:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. (EST). We'll do our best to answer your question or provide you with a reference to someone who CAN!!" Hope that helps you start to get answers.

Hi ladies, I need some help. My husband is currently in pensacola for a-school, they told him he will be graduating A-School on July 27th, when will we get his orders? and what should i expect? We got married right after he graduated boot camp, and we still arent getting BAH or anything, even though he applied about 2-3 weeks ago. Will they pay for our move? or does everything need to come out of our own pocket?

I just added this to Bases and Places:
First, here's how to find your base:
Go to Commander, Naval Installations Command Headquarters http://cnic.navy.mil/CNIC_HQ_Site/index.htm and click on the Regions and Installations tab. Keep narrowing down on the maps on each subsequent screen to find your base.

Once you find the CNIC home page for your installation, you'll find info about the base, an overview of the area, and links to relocation information, 'Welcome Aboard' packets, MIlitary Moves, Family Housing, Relocation Workshops, Fleet and Family Support Center, important phone numbers, Navy Lodge, MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation), and lots more.

@Whitney, yes we are married and were married prior to him joining so I know that they'll move my stuff. I was wondering about the dislocation allowance. Right now, I will be moving to where he's going to A School at, would we get the DLA for that move or is it only applicable to actual duty station moves. When I was married to my ex, who was a marine, I remember getting like 1500 or so when we moved from his last school to his permanent duty station but I can't remember if we got it when we moved from his first school to his second. We might have, I was young and naive and didn't have a hand in the finances. I was just trying to find out if anyone knew anything about DLA.
