Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Aloha from your MWR! Here's what's happening this week.

Single Sailors - Enjoy Christmas Lunch at all Liberty Centers: Spend Christmas enjoying a delicious lunch with friends at Liberty. Lunch at each location begins at 11:30 a.m. The event is FREE and open to all single sailors. For more information, visit www.greatlifehawaii.com or call 473-4279.

Christmas Lunch at Silver Dolphin Bistro: On Christmas Day, all sailors (including retirees) and their dependents, as well as DoD civilians, are invited to a special Christmas meal at Silver Dolphin Bistro. The cost is $7 person, and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, assorted candies, desserts and more. MWR Holiday Events and Hours: This holiday season, MWR has complimentary activities for all military personnel. Enjoy free bowling at Naval Station Bowling Center, a free movie with popcorn and drink at Sharkey Theater, free green fees (active duty E-5 and below), free pupus and pizza at Club Pearl and Oceans CPO Club and more! Navy-Marine Golf Course & Barbers Point Golf Course - Christmas and New Year's Eve Schedule: The golf courses will have special hours of operation on Dec. 25 and 31. Single tees are 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 9-hole play begins after 3 p.m. Pro Shop and range closes at 6 p.m. For additional information, call 471-0142 (Navy-Marine) or 682-1911 (Barbers Point).

To help your sailor enjoy the holidays in Hawaii:

Single Sailors - 'Tis the season to celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas: Beginning on Dec. 14 and ending with a delicious lunch on Christmas Day, there will be plenty of holiday fun for all single sailors. Activities include: surfing with Santa, shopping trips, parasailing, bowling, movies and a trolley ride to Honolulu Hale to see the Christmas lights. Honolulu City Lights Trolley Tour - Tickets at Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT): Visit any ITT location to purchase tickets for this fun-filled holiday trolley tour. Tour dates are Dec. 11 - 13 and 17 - 23. Tour times are 6 and 6:30 p.m. for all dates. Tickets are only $12 per person (ages 5 and older). Children ages 4 and under are considered as a lap child and ride free. Seating is limited, so act fast! For more information, call 473-0792.

Boat Decorating Contest at Rainbow Bay Marina: On Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m., stop by the Marina and watch a parade of boats as patrons display their holiday lights. Vote for your favorite boat and enjoy FREE refreshments and snacks. For more information, call 473-0279.

FREE Advanced Screening at Sharkey Theater: On Dec. 20 at 3 p.m., be the first on the island to see this major motion picture. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the movie starts at 3 p.m. Due to motion picture association policy, we are unable to announce the name of the film, but be sure to arrive early because only the first 450 eligible patrons will be seated. Hello everyone just wanted to say thanks again for your thoughts and prayers on the death of my mother. My son was able to come home which I am so greatful to his command for allowing him. He is now on the way back to Pearl Harbor, Hi. It wasn't easy saying goodbye again but I am very happy to have had this short time with him. It snow yesterday here in New York so now he'll be on that beautiful warm island......he just called landed in Los Angeles...3 hour layover then Hawaii :):):):)
