Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello, My daughter left for BC on 12/18/18. Her PIR is set for 02/08/19. Can someone tell me if she will be able to spend anytime with us after PIR before she is sent to A School?

from what I got from him, its helping recruits with payroll and assisting the commanders with anything they need. but I'm not positive on this information.

Does anyone have any information on Personnel Specialist / FTS (Full-Time Support) ? This is what my husband will be doing. He leaves at the end of March for boot camp. And after boot camp, Lord willing, he will be attending A-School at Meridian, Mississippi :)

So my son will be a ps on (ddg95) James E. Williams in Norfolk.. What are their typical working hours on the ship? He will also live on this ship, how much time do they typically have off the ship while in port? This is all new to me, just curious how his day will be..

no, you dont extend your reserve time period at all. only your active duty

Im a little confused. But once your in there and you signed up for 4year active and 4 years reserve, during that term can you extend your reserve duty making it 2 years active and 6 years reserve?

i know the time frames done add up just right, but once a person is in, theres all kinds of ways of extending, reenlisting, oteiping.. and you only serve 8 years in reserves period, so if you extend to say 6 years, you have 2 years left in the reserves. with that you would have fulfilled a 4 year sea, and would be almost done with a shore rotation..
