Ugh...we could drive ourselves crazy, but yes, I too am hoping today is the day!  Do you know if they only get to call on Sunday's?  I've got my list of things I want to talk and ask her about.  I'm so afraid I'm going to bombard her with questions...I promise myself to let her do most of the talking!!!  :)

Just met maryanne , her son has PIR this friday , she said her phone call this week was 30 min. long just for her. Her son also called his grandfather and his dad , she said the closer its gets to PIR the more time on the phone he is allowed .

The BIG problem his group had is when one SR got on the internet some how and " it the fan " ,it was a BIG NO NO, all were treated as if they were the one, it wasn't pleasant .

Still waiting for our first phone call , maryanne also told me about posting on this site, be careful what you post, she noted that her group has a "crazy" that is reacting to postings in a very negative way .Will keep the info coming when I receive more .

Im having a really hard day . I was at the park with both of my kids trying to teach my 5 year old how to ride a bike and my little guy was on his scoot along bike . I lost it bc I needed him there to help me with one of the kids and I was all alone:( i know its almost half way over but i need him now .

It's ok to cry!...a compassionate parent is one who loves their child...no matter what age.  Stay strong, and know that we're all going through the same feelings, and it's ok to have moments that tug hard on your heart...that's what makes you a loving parent.

Its my husband who is gone but the same advice holds true, thanks.

Sorry B daniel...hope today is better for you!  Daughters, sons, husbands, boyfriends...we're missing them all...but oh, so proud!!!!

Hi John and April (and all Ship 9 Div 143 families)...John's daughter is our son's girlfriend and we miss her like crazy! We received our first letter from Rachel while we were in GL for our Sailor's PIR (3/30).

John....Rachel sounded tired and not feeling very good, how'd she sound in your letter? I gave Chris her address and read her letter to him over the phone. Keep us posted when you get the phone call....should be this Friday afternoon. On the bright side of this roller coaster of emotions graduation is AMAZING!!! Far more than what I expected. The 8 weeks is long and tough but all worth it! Hang in there families!!!

She called about 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) and we talked for about 15 minutes... she sounded really good and very positive.  I know she was trying not to cry and it put a lump in my throat.  Very exciting to hear her voice after 21 days.. but glad to know that she is doing ok.. very proud!!

I am so happy for you!!  My eyes were tearing up just reading your post...how will I hold it together when my daughter calls?  I'm away from home this week (actually out of the state), so I'm hoping she'll remember to call my cell.  Maybe our girls have become friends???...it's my hope that they've made great connections!

You're making me cry John! The phone calls are always so wonderful. Chris got a phone call too. And we received another letter from her, she sounded really good. I have a bunch of travel/hotel info for you. I'll e-mail you on FB. Talk to you soon!

My daughter's PIR is 5/11, and I'm so happy to hear that graduation is amazing!!! What an awesome photograph of you and your family.  Congratulations to you and your sailor!!!!

Just received our first phone call, now I can relax.
