Oh, Annette...I know how you feel...when we (my husband and I) went to graduation, 3 of my son's best friends were able to come too...we all spent time together after graduation on Friday but my husband and I definately got the message that the 'old folks' were not on the guest list for their trip into Chicago on Saturday...LOL...we did go in later in the day and we all met in Chinatown for an early dinner, which was so much fun...it was all good and I'm so thankful the kids were able to come and be with him, it meant so much!

I understand the feeling you are having...I pretty much cried myself to sleep last night at the hotel and we had to leave him today around 1pm to make the drive home.  He will be home the end of this month but then leave for Japan later in June...he will be in Japan for at least 2 years and I feel bad to say that although I'm so proud and supportive, I'm sick inside...if I thought 8 weeks of boot camp was bad, what will 2 years be like?  Of course, there is Skype and email and such but wow!

It was so awesome to meet you jedds :) Have you heard from Clay since he's been at A school?

It was such a pleasure to meet you all as well and I plan to keep in touch with you no matter where our sailors go!  We texted a little last evening, I asked how things were going and he said "awesome"..lol..I suppose after boot camp they are going to have some 'awesome' days..haha

Have you heard from Cody?  I'm sure he is like Clay, trying to get used to a new routine.  They are so used to doing things as a group, it probably feels funny being on their own!

I know how you both feel also. It was such a fast-paced weekend and we had to share him with so many of the family that came. And, before I knew it, it was all over and we were driving home.  I've been an emotional train wreck ever since.

**cyber hugs** to my fellow Navy Moms!  We will all get thru this together, I'm certain. Not certain how, but certain we will. :)

I'm there with you...cried on my way to work on Monday morning and keep thinking about him during the day...I have to remind my self that he (just like I did) had the opportunity to chose what he would like to do with his life, he is satisfied with and confident in the decision he has made and he is happy...knowing all this helps me in working through my feelings...and you are right, we will get thru this together and I can't imagine being on this journey with anyone else but my friends in this group!!  Please know that I think about you all every day!

How about some fun...I'd like some ideas on what everyone is doing when our sailors get their first leave such as welcome home parties or a family campout or maybe even share a favorite food you will fix while they are home...I always like new ideas!

I have some but am having problems getting them off the camera. I will post as soon as I can though.

There are some great ones on the Facebook page for Recruit Training Command.  I think 40 photos are posted from our sailor's graduation day.
