OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Received letter today. She sounded upbeat. Really put my mind at ease.

My son is in this group.  Looking forward to the first real letter!

Welcome! Me too! I have to say though, I'm feeling much better after reading her little note on the bottom of the form letter! She sounded upbeat.

That's wonderful to hear, boot camp sounds very tough from what I've been reading.  My son's dad emailed me the letter he received today -- no note at the bottom, just the contact info.  It is good to finally have an address to send the letters I've been writing!

I know! I have a big envelope with letters from this week. I originally thought her PIR was 08.21.11. This is great! A week earlier then what I thought.
So div 346 pir is on the 14? Great to hear

welcome myboy!  Yes I am so happy! I thought for sure my daughter's PIR on the 21st. Is your son in this div? Have heard anything from him?

Yes he is, I have been deployed to the hurricane so I have not got to check my mail yet, but I did get my letters to him sent off. I am praying he is doing well

Morning everyone!

Monday is a holiday .Is it a training day as usual or does RTC treat it like a Sunday?  Do you think they will let our SR make a call?

Boy...we sure are a small quiet group :) LOL
Book hotel last night. Staying @ Residence Inn in Waukegan. Anyone else?

Hi my daughter is graduation on the 14th and we are staying at the Residence Inn too. Should arrive around 3;30 on Thursday. Last name is Chesnut or Linger. Her grandparents are going so I am not sure which name to tell you to look under. I am getting so excited to see her.

Yes my son is in this div navymom.  I have gotten the form letter with just a couple linesa but no real letter yet.  I am looking foreward to it.  I miss him so bad.  It was hard he turned 21 while there and it is the first birthday he has been away.
