Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Our phone rang a bit ago and I swear I flew to the phone, darn salesman. I saw on RTC's Facebook page that the calls last week began around 10 AM and continued through the day and evening. Sooner rather than later please, I may go crazy waiting...

No, my hubby and I have been entering the trivia and mixed up photo contests every week but so far have not won which is how you get a photo posted.

Oh, ok. Still haven't gotten a phone call. Hopefully soon. Good thing I am home canning today and close to the phone. I hope they let them chat for awhile since I have to share my time with his girlfriend and I have sooooo many questions. :)

Just got off a 40 minute call. My Sailor said he wanted to go grab some food and will call back when if he has time left. All passed Battlestations, Bravo Zulu 350!

Have you gotten your turn yet Mamaof5? Our Sailor (I am going to keep capitalizing that for a while) said he thought they might get to call again tomorrow.

Just spoke to my Sailor too. He was lucky to even be able to do participate. He has been so sick. He said they have him on 5 different antibiotics right now. They wanted to keep him at the hospital. His white blood cell count was 21/2 times what it should be.He explained that he would lose his spot in Nuke school if they held him back, so they worked with him. He even had to make up the firefighting one on one with an instructor. I hope he is on the mend. I give him a lot of credit for pressing on with as sick as he has been. Very Proud!

He is the kind of sailor I want standing shoulder to shoulder with my son in a crisis. I don't know him but am so proud of his internal fortitude! I am thinking the prayers said on his behalf helped too!

Thank you for saying that. That does a mom's heart good hearing that someone else sees some of what I see in him. Thank you for the prayers. I'm sure they helped. I'm glad ours boys were in this together and worked well together. By the way...Congratulations. :)

I am loving my mental picture of our sons exhausted, happy, proud, relieved and fast asleep tonight. They need a good rest to go get that Captain's Cup tomorrow! Hooyah 350!

I have been checking my phone so often today, then suddenly - it rang - 847! I was so excited to hear his voice! My Sailor (It is nice to write that, beckmcs) sounded happy, relieved, and proud. we actually got to talk this time, and his sister got a few minutes, too. I am so proud of him and of Div 350!!
Finally got my next letter today, too. What a wierd disconnect it is, to get a letter that speaks about a week ago, and then a phone call that gives me all the news I wanted.
Mamaof5 - you must be so proud of your son - how courageous of him, to push himself through this, when a lesser man would have sunk back in the pillows and waited til later! I agree, that's the sort of sailor I'd like my son to be on board with!
We'll see them soon! I hope they do well in the Captain's Cup!
