Hello NavyMomof1  My son is in this division!  Nice to chat with you.  I am really green at this.   All new to me.   I am not sure where to begin.  No letter yet but maybe next week, I hope.

Hi Julie! I heard from my husband SR but only because he called to tell me I wouldnt be getting his check 10/1 not until the 15th! But Man it felt good to hear from him even just for a minute or two! :)
I am still waiting for my son's first letter to arrive, too.  I am hoping it comes today.  Weekends are the worst for me!  Too quiet here.  I have been sending letters daily and am hoping my son gets some of them soon.  I miss him sooo much.  I know this is his dream and I support him 110% but it is still hard.  He is by baby. And only son.  We have this bond and he has never been away this long before with no communication.  This was also his first time to fly!  His short phone call to say he got to the Great Lakes was great.  He sounded up beat.  I think he is doing much better than I am.
Hi NavyMomJulie...I know it's hard and we're all in this together.  I got my first letter today and I have to say I cried my eyes out.  I think they do much better than we do.  They're there concentrating on what needs to be done.  Then by the end of the day they're so exhausted they pass out....no time to worry about home.  Us, on the other hand, walk around all day thinking of nothing else.  We'll be ok...as will they.

Thank you for those encouraging words!  I needed to hear that!

navymomjulie2011,  My daughter is in division 372 so I think your son and my daughter train together.  Whit called Saturday and they are getting letters.  She started getting hers Friday--I mailed them Tuesday.  Keep writing because it sounds like they are craving news from home.  I write everyday about anything that happens so she doesn't miss anything.  Sometimes I feel like I am rambling but she loved it!  Hang in there.  Less than 6 weeks to go!

I am so glad you heard from him.  Congrats!

Thats Great that everyone is hearing from there SR's! I cant wait to get a real call. My husband only called me wednesday to say they were just doing there paperwork for there pay so I wouldnt be getting a check on the 1st like the recruiter told us we would be. But I was shocked he called and so happy it was good to hear from them. He said they arent letting them write yet, so hopefully they can soon!! I'll be so excited!

HEY ladies we only have 6 more weeks!!!!

Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Im still waiting!!! I cant wait to get one! Anyone on facebook?? I wanna try to win the picture of the group tomorrow on the Recruit Training Command website!

Hi There,

I got a two letters yesterday.  She sounded pretty good.  I was very happy to hear from her. I can't wait to get a call and hear her voice.  She is homesick but that is to be expected.  Also getting her wisdom teeth pulled this week.  I am on facebook.  How does that work?

hi jrunner163 - on facebook search recruit training command, like the page. then every wednesday at 12 CST they post a distorted picture and you have to guess what type of training it is. You can find that on http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ then go to recruits then military training then tech training. You have to put the type of training. Your answers should be one of the following: Marlinespike Basic Seamanship Phase, firefighting, water survival and weapons training. The pictures are sometimes really easy sometimes really hard. Last week the answer was water survival so I doubt it will be the same this week. You have to have fast fingers. The people are ruthless with the photo contests! Good Luck and lets win a picture!!!
I have not gotten a letter yet.  I run to the mailbox everyday like a little kid in a candy store!  Hopefully something comes today.  When I talked to her Saturday, she said she had them all written but couldn't send them until Sunday.  Hopefully the mailman answers my prayers today!
