paces....sounds like he is moving forward! That's wonderful news!! Glad his spirits are getting higher. It's a difficult thing...not knowing what the future will hold when you had your dream set in another direction. But, a different path was chosen for him. :)

We talk with our son about every other night. We usually text during the week and make time for an actual conversation on the weekends. He texts his little sister almost every day. Well, she's 17...but still younger LOL.  So glad for that, they have always been close. It really broke her heart when he left. She still looks for his guidance on some things. She just started dating someone and I think our son put the fear in him already LOL!!!! :)

Zenda 04/823...Thank you. Yes!!!  I think anyone could tell we are missing our boys.   I will tell him. He called later last night and we talked for a while. His spirits are better.  His orders for light duty were finally filed and he is waiting for an assignment.

Have you heard from yours?  You are so right! We have to keep each other strong!!!! Hugs and Prayers :)

Zenda 04/823...I do have a moment or two now and then. :)  Thank you. No. We are in GA. It is too far and we are just making ends meet with our middle son trying to get in Med School and furloughs from my salary. It seems they take more and more every year. We saw him during New Year's for a few days. We were looking forward to seeing him about this week as he was transferring to FL, but that didn't happen. I am ready as well. It has been a long time.

Got a text from him today. He was able to run 3 miles without any pain. That is such a blessing. I know that has to make him feel good.  Mine always gave wonderful hugs. I miss his hugs.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. :)

Paces...I have goosebumps...you explained that so well, hoping and praying we've done a good job as parents. From the sounds of it....your son has a GREAT family supporting him!!! Are y'all able to go see him?

We haven't seen our son since Christmas break, but he's about 8 hours away from us now. So hopefully soon we can get up there for a weekend to see him.  I'm so ready!!!!! Miss him terribly, that boy ALWAYS had a way of making me laugh and smile. :)

Zenda 04/823...  I completely understand. We are getting ready for the State Writing Test today. It is a big test. The last thing I have wanted to do the last couple of weeks is look at the computer.

Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. He is adjusting well, I think. He is talking about options he wants to pursue. Just waiting for that right person to cross his path that can give him some real insight and information so he can make a decision. Of course, we are also waiting on the legs to heal. He is now having trouble with the muscles in his other leg. I think because he has been pampering the injured one for so long.

I am hoping for such an experience for our son. It is just so difficult when you are so far away from them. You have to trust you have done your job as a parent to instill in them the ability to make wise decisions.

We will keep your nephew in our prayers as well. I know you are ready to see your son, too. How long before he is able to come home.

Paces...sorry I haven't gotten on here very often!!! Been crazy busy at work, and the computer was making my eyes cross LOL.

Y'all have been in my thoughts! How's your son doing? Hope everything is getting a little better on him with the changes. I know it's very difficult...my nephew also broke his leg while in bc, and had some major decisions to make. He's now on his last deployment, and has had a great time seeing the world!!!

Zenda 04/823...  Thanks so much for the encouraging words. I think it is just as hard on us not being able to help advise him. We are so inadequate at helping him because we don't have all the information available to us to help make the best decision. He is basically on his own. We keep praying for the right person to cross his path to help guide and advise him. He is very disappointed. He has wanted this for as long as I can remember, so I know he is lost with what to do. I don't know if he even has an idea of what he wants now. Thanks again for the hugs and prayers. You are terrific.

paces....I'm so glad to hear it's not as bad as they thought. How is he feeling?! I'm sure he's disappointed, but hopefully he will understand that there's a reason for him in another field.  Big hugs to you all, and prayers still coming!!!

Zenda 04/823...Thank you so much for the prayers. He met with the Dive Medical Officer on Thurs.  The fracture is not as bad as the last time, but he has lost his contract. He has been moved to a Transition Unit and will be given an assignment for light duty. They will give him options once he has healed. It will be 3 or more weeks before he they talk with him about his options. It will depend on how the leg heals. Thanks again for your prayers.
