~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Diannep  it was a call on Christmas while at a church that hosted a division of recruits.  He got to make a few personal calls using cell phones they provided.

Comment by diannep on December 31, 2013 at 8:44pm

jenamarro:  Was the call he made to you a personal call or a supervised (short and scripted) call?  Usually if they call you to tell you that they have been delayed due to failure of a test, you are not to go to GL unless you get the I'm a Sailor call.  No problem that his division already went through....he can go through with another group.   I know this keeps you in limbo since we think all of the divisions have gone through by now....hoping that you get a call later tonight or tomorrow.  When did you plan to leave for GL?  If you hear nothing by tomorrow night, I would give the Public Affairs Office a call on Thurs morning....847 688 2405.  He cannot do BattleStations until he passes all tests....fingers crossed that he passed and has completed BattleStations, but just hasn't been able to call yet!

JORDANSMUM:  I hope that the Navy will change your son's thinking and make him realize how much family means to our military.  Prayers for all....

My son called on Christmas day and said he had failed the 3rd written test and was moved to another division temporarily until he passed the test.  He said he was retaking the test this last Friday.  His original division 046 has went through battle stations already.  He told us on Christmas he thought he would still graduate on Jan 3rd but we have had no call from him saying he is a sailor or if he is NOT graduating either.  Any wisdom?  If no "i am a sailor" call, do I just assume he will not be graduating this Friday?

diannep, yes I'm assuming he's in the FIT program/division. From my conversation with him, the only thing he didn't /hadn't passed was the swimming and next step would have been Battle Stations. Thank you for suggesting and sending me the link for the FIT group.

Did anyone recruit go to Mt. Sinai Church for Christmas?
Comment by jmom on December 31, 2013 at 3:21pm
CatMom509, thank you as always and thanks also for the encouraging scriptures that you post daily. I know that God interceded and has a purpose for doing so. We just have to stand in God's word and wait on Him. He's an on time God and knows what's best. I will keep this site updated as to his progress.

Thanks to each of you for your prayers for me and my SR and congratulations again to each of you and your SAILORS. I pray that everyone has a safe journey to and from PIR and enjoy the time seeing and being with your SAILORS. I will be sharing your treasured moment in Friday while watching the graduation live via the website. CONGRATULATIONS.

I hate to hear that, I know their all doing well my Son said he couldn't have had a better group of Men to become Sailors with. I'm keeping my figures crossed that you will hear from him!!!

Thank you! It is a long story....he is in an unfortunate relationship and because of that I didn't get to see him before he left for bootcamp! I have received two letters but was really hoping to hear from him on Christmas! Sadly, he chose not to call me....breaks my heart! He has been part of our lives for 21 years and I really miss him! I will continue to write him and hope he finds his family again soon!
