Hi Regina, My son is the same ship/division as yours. Did you get a letter from your son lately? My son called on Saturday and did mention something about Adopt-a-sailor. But like you i can't go there for Christmas and Graduation. I'm just waitting for my son's letter he said he sent me...
I did get some letters from Jordaon yesterday too. I spoke to him Saturday He sounded great I can't wait to see my boy.. the 1st letter was I hate boot camp 2 letter he was doing better... he passed his level 3 swim test 3 letter he's great... I wish some one could adopt him for Christmas so he could get a break... If I hit the Lottery I will take us both up there ... so I guess I need to play... Got to go to work have a great day. Hope you get the letter today...
The way Adopt-A-Sailor works...is that the TG that is eligible WILL be adopted out. If not by family then by a community orginization/host family/ or church. None are "left behind".
So, even if you are not able to adopt them they will be adopted out for the day1 Almost all provide internet or cell phones so they can contact loved ones.
We are doing Adopt-a-Sailor!! My son is in Division 49- anxiously waiting for a call or letter saying who he'd like to accompany him.... I am confused as to how this works- I have my fax confirmation but nothing further- 11 of us will be traveling to spend the day with them- it was my kids' wish to spend Christmas Day with their brother in lieu of gifts- I am anxious and excited!! We are traveling from Minnesota- he comes from a large blended family- (8 boys and 7 girls)
That's great I wish I could go but I will see our SR in 17 days... can't wait. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy every min. Hopefully I will meet you take care and God Bless. I will friend quest you.
Hello Regina- finally feeling a little more connected Thanks to pages like this!! I accepted your friend request- Thanks!!
Hello Regina!! I am so excited!! Trying to get everything in place for the trip on Monday I forgot to call the number this morning so I hurried and did it a few minutes ago- I actually got a live body for the first time!! It was strange/eerie because I gave my son's name and she said she literally had his paper in her hand at that very moment!! She was processing it as we spoke! Then about 5 minutes later I received the email confirmation! Finally things are seeming to come together!! :) Hope your day is going good!
I'm so happy for you, a little worried about the weather, but I'm sure everything will work out. Enjoy every moment.. I can't wait til graduation counting down the days... Can't wait to hear about your visit..
