Recruits can leave for RTC on the same day and end up in different TG's. It is just on how they are filled, they hit the cut off for the TG, sometimes there rating (occupational specialty) and if they end up in an integrated division (male and female combined division).
TG =Training Group.
09 =it is the ninth Training Group of the military fiscal year.
Fiscal year for all military starts October 1st.
Just got the letter today...our son is ship 3, division 051. He left 11/6 so I thought his PIR would be 12/31 since some others that left then have their PIR that date so I'm not sure how that works. But just glad to have the official word now. What does the TG 09 stand for next to the PIR date? Got a lot of new lingo to learn!
Welcome, Ladies. Keep watching the posts and the division numbers posted so you can meet others with SRs in your SR's division. And remember, they train with brother divisions....so your SR will know those SRs also. How to know what is your brother division? ???? Well, the 1st division is always an "odd" number, and the brother one is an "even" number after it. So for instance, Bree: Your SR's brother division is 54----so why not friend request MassNavyMom who posted a few below yours....because her SR is in your brother division. Once she accepts your friend request, you all can chat privately and share more personal info about your SRs! Just click on her photo or screen name in the post....that takes you to her page. Then click on Add a Friend..and you can add a personal message to the request if you like. Once she accepts, she may email you back or you will see her picture in your Friends section on your page! Once her pik is there, you can click on that and send her an actual email!
Welcome to Navy Bootcamp! We N4moms veterans are here to help you....so ask any questions you like.
Also, at the top right of this page, there is a PAGES section that all need to read through with lots of info!

Jennifer33486,
So your SR daughter is on Ship 03, Division 051! You should read a little about Rear Admiral Grace M. Hopper who was a Navy computer whiz and one of the few females honored by having a Navy ship named after her!!

Greetings!
"Therefore by Him let us continually offer
the sacrifice of praise to God that is, the fruit
of our lips giving thanks to His name."
