maryjo:  I'm not familiar with the form you will get, but I would imagine there is a place on there to list the names of the people coming up.  I would wait for the form and then if you have questions, you can contact RTC about it.  847 688 2405

Not sure if cousins are allowed to adopt them?  I would just wait for the form and see what is on it.

Our wonderful leaders...I have a question about the Adopt a Sailor for Christmas.  The packet when it comes may answer, this but does our son specify who can come be with him for the day?  We may not be able to make it, but his cousin may.  Is that feasible?

Father, in the coming days, I will need You, but my recruit will need You more!
Let him perform his tasks with a sense of duty, not of anger or vengeance. Let his reflexes be quick and his hands steady. Let his head be clear and his eyes sharp. Let his mind and body be strong and his spirit stronger.

God, please stand by my recruit and watch his back when he cannot!
Father, I love this recruit of mine! Take from me what he needs and give me what he does not.

I will pace the nights, if it means he gets some sleep.
I will deal with fatigue, if it means he will have energy.
I will carry his fear, if it means it gives him courage.
I will take his pain, if it means he is healthy and whole.
I will take his anger, if it means he is at peace.
Take my love and pride and let him feel it!
Let him know that I am with him every step of the way!
Please, take from me what You can; I give it willingly and with love.
It is all I have besides my prayers.
Above all, please help my recruit to achieve his goal of becoming...
A United States Navy Sailor!

This I ask on bended knee, that which I cannot do without YOU!

I agree with CatMom.  Once the discussion groups are open, which will be soon, you can meet others in your division.  Sometimes there are just a few on here in a particular division, sometimes more.  Like CatMom said, sadly N4Moms represents a very small percentage of the SRs at Bootcamp.  Most don't know about this site, or elect not to get on it.  That is why we suggest that when you go to PIR, tell others about this site, which is a godsend when they are in school and at duty stations too!  Some groups have even printed out small business cards with the website info on it and passed them out!

Good Morning!

TaysMom,

This group recently started and more moms will find it. Sadly, only 10% of the families represented at Recruit Training Command (RTC) find this awesomely informative and encouraging site!!  An informed mom (or family member) is a calm and organized one!!

Your SR is with about 87 other SRs, so he is definitely not alone!  Also, in few weeks, ellen0502 will open up discussion groups on this PIR group page for brother divisions training together, so you can meet each other.  Please hang on and don't start a new Navy for Mom division group because you will have a hard time finding each other and the effort will be duplicative~~

If you've really hit it off with someone, you can friend each other and chat via private message.

My calls home were very up and down as the challenges went along.

For those of you who have not received that first real call home...it's going to be emotional...on both sides. Stay as strong as you can for your Recruit and then PLEASE come here and unload...crying is healing, so let it go! That way you get it out and can move forward.

Be as encouraging as you can and tell them you love them and will write...they live for mail it is like gold to them.

Funny thing about that, I had one of my husbands buds who said the same thing about mail when they were deployed. :-)

Claudia - I am sorry for the "down" call...it is very normal. You're attitude is great and I am sure that will carry through to your daughter.

That first letter home may be down too...but usually gets better about the third to fourth week of BC. After a few weeks of training and they are adjusting.

059 and 060 would be Brother Divisions...looks like they are Integrated - Male/Female. The Females from both Divisions will berth together as will the males.
