For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

I got my first letter yesterday, a single page. I called his gf and she had a 6 page letter. We shared letters and my little letter had a lot of information, while her's was a lot of I love you, and miss you sort of stuff. He said the RDC's are good, and that they have been getting a lot of I.T. but otherwise it wasn't too bad. The food must be good, because he wrote 'I'm getting fat'.

Zachsmom. That is funny because it was the same for me. I got two letters that equaled about a page and a half. His girlfriend got 4 pages. I asked if he shared anything more about boot camp and she said no I learned more from what you told me from your letter. She said hers was a lot of I love and miss you. My Son also said their RDCs seemed "nicer" than others.

Thank goodness we have the internet. I couldn't imagine how much tougher this was for the moms whose children were away at BC before this instant exchange of information came to be. One of my favorite things on this site is the Countdown Clock. I love to see the days and hours tick away!
I received a letter on Wednesday; he also sent one to his sisters (group letter), and his girlfriend received 2 letters. It was so good to hear from him. Our hotel rooms are booked for PIR weekend, and I have to admit that I'm not even thinking about the holidays at this point...just want to get to January 18th!!! -

We got our letter on Thursday....you would have that I was getting a letter from a movie star!! So exciting. Ours was 3 pages long, some good information in. He sounded good, working hard, making good friends. He was happy because he got to see his cousin briefly. They are about 5 days apart in BC, and he was SO happy to get a quick glimpse of him. It so relieved me to hear from him! I felt more relaxed than I have in days. I really appreciate having this forum to communicate with you all! Happy Saturday!!

Nothing for us yet. :( Pretty bummed - I've sent him a couple with stamps and calling cards. I haven't checked with his wife - I'm sure he's written to her. He did speak her with for a few minutes last weekend to get her SS number. She said he sounded good, but she could tell someone was right there with him. Maybe this week.

I got my first letter on Wednesday last week...2 pages. His girlfriend got 9 letters in one envelope. My sad little 2 pages included one paragraph intended for me and the rest was about his girlfriend...lol...asking me to check on her and make sure she is holding up and for me to stay in contact with her. Which I already have, we've been out to lunch/dinner a few times and we "talk/text" everyother day or so. She has been very supportive of him throughout everything. I've written him several times, but she writes him everyday. Well our hotel is now booked (Navy Lodge) and now just counting down the days. I have literally "lived" on N4M since he left, it has been wonderful just reading/posting all the great information and supportive words everyone has. Anyone received a phone call yet? Hopefully soon! Best wishes and see everyone there!

I really feel your pain. My son didn't even have a gf up until spring of this year. Don't get me wrong, she is a very nice and smart girl. She's good for him, but it's hard to get a 1 page letter, and someone he just met, gets a book.

Still no letters, but I spoke with my step-son's wife who has gotten letters from Kris. He has a leadership role, member of the "nasty nine". They're job is to make sure the head is clean. One benefit of being the leader is that they get their own head to share with about 15 guys instead of the 50+ that have to use the other one. She said his letters were positive. That's good to hear. I know he will do well. He's 25 and has been working as either a waiter or bar-tender full time since he was 18, so he's got experience training others, has a really good work ethic, and is a real team player. It'll be nice to get a letter at our house though. Can't wait to see him.
