mome2jord:  UGG boots would definitely have to be worn on the plane!

SweetLove:  Well, of course --you can wear all of your clothes on the plane...lots of layers, a bit hot, and make sure with all of that bulk that you can still fit in the airplane seat!  HA!  I have heard of people wearing layers of clothing on the planes to keep from checking luggage.  Wow...I would be having hot flash after hot flash!  The two bags that I carried on (larger purse/carryon) were easy and both fit under the seat in front of me (had to squeeze them on the smaller plane I connected with).  So no overhead bins for me.  No problems getting on/off the plane...and I was amazed at how much I was able to pack in there!  Now, it was a bit heavy to carry (although had shoulder straps on both)...so glad that I'm a workout freak and strong!  :-)

Good morning all!

lol, we always roll everything when we pack as well. You can fit so much more in the bag. But, for flying you have to also be careful with the weight :-)

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on January 8, 2012 at 10:53pm

Too funny...I roll my stuff too!

Comment by mome2jord on January 8, 2012 at 9:50pm

Cristina.....I am with your girls, I always have a suitcase just for shoes...lol!:)

@sweetlove...I too am good at packing just under the 50 pounds per suitcase and I take the largest size I can fly with before I get charged.  The airline workers at the counter always see me coming and get excited when they think they will get to charge me, but then I disappoint them when I am just under for both...haha.  Of course it depends on what airline too, some charge for luggage regardless of what size and weight.

@diannep...I could roll my clothes but my shoes might be my problem...and my new Ugg boots definitely won't fit....haha!

Comment by diannep on January 8, 2012 at 9:29pm

Well, ok, CristinaTMom:  Can't roll the shoes!  But they need to wear their bulkiest ones and pack the lighter ones...and 4 pairs of shoes?  Maybe they can eliminate one pair?  HA!  I have boys...they're easy when it comes to packing...

Comment by diannep on January 8, 2012 at 9:26pm

When I flew up to see my sailor at his duty station, I decided I was not paying the checked luggage charges.  So...I took an oversized purse AND a carryon bag.  Stuck underwear/bras (rolled them) in my purse...I was packed to the hilt with my 2 carryons but so happy I didn't have to check luggage.  It is amazing how much more you can pack if you ROLL everything!

Thinking of what to pack and when to pack. Traveling with two girls are very stressful. My husband is easy! The girls want to pack 3 or 4 pairs of shoes!!!!! And all the hairstyle equipment, oh dear! I hope they remember to pack their clothes, LOL!

Hi JessicaB-I'm glad to see you back here again. You helped me so much when my son was a depper for 8 months. He is in bootcamp due to PIR on 01/20/2012. Thank you again for support :)
