OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Burstingwithpride....I was thinking the same thing about packing. All travel plans are done and our packing won't be until the day before we go. Although we travel a lot and are used to packing everything quickly...lol! I think some of these ladies have small children and there are some that are driving, so there is more involved for them as far as getting everything all organized and a car packed for a road trip. I remember those days when my kids were little and we had to do everything for them....and now they pack themselves! So don't worry, I think you are fine because if your not then that means I am not ready either....lol!
The only thing is our son told us not to bring his Christmas presents with us. He didn't say why and so I asked him in his letter. I am assuming he wants to wait until he gets to his A school? Or he talked about the first chance he gets to fly home on the weekend he is going to, so maybe he wants to wait and do it at home. I have his presents all wrapped and ready to take to Chicago. I guess i will talk to him on the 13th and figure out what he wants me to do.
I'm feeling like I should be panicked or something, lol...everyone here and on fb talks about how they've been packing and I haven't packed a thing bc I use everything (pretty much) daily that I will be bringing...so, question is, what is everyone packing already?? Travel plans are locked in, so I felt great relief about that...can't think of much else to do at this point with 2 weeks to go...oh, that sounds so great, 2 weeks!! I love the post below about the PIR care pkg gift ~great idea for others~ Thank you for sharing!! Have a wonderful day all! =)
Just noticed that I "changed" your name to "mome3jord...sorry about that! HA! Too early in the morning!
Yes, I agree on the date to stop writing letters. If you want to keep writing, you can do so...but keep copies of the letters and take with you to PIR in case they didn't arrive. They are suppose to be forwarded to them, but we all know how that goes.
And, mome3jord. I know the feeling. My son was asmoed for a week and I felt the same way on his original PIR date. But his PIR will make up for it, believe me!
Good morning!
My son was suppose to graduate tomorrow....I am so excited for the 20th, yet I am finding myself extra sad tonight...I miss him so much!
That is what I was thinking Sweetlove....then they will get them all the way to the end...:)
We got letters this week from our son and the dates were all off, but as long as we get letters I am okay with that. My question is when do we stop writing letters? If PIR is the 20th should we stop writing like three days before? I want to write as long as possible but not have the last letters not get to him. When do you all plan to stop sending something?
I think one is the 35-55 mm and the other is the 55-200 mm. At junior high graduation, I grabbed the long lense and then the seating was too close. I will pack the whole thing and decide at the hotel.
Which camera do I pack? I have the Nikon D5000 with the 2 lenses but I always seem to grab the wrong lense since I never want to lug it all around. I also a have a Coolpix which is much smaller but I'm not so sure if it has enough zoom.. What do I do???
ATTENTION!!
Someone posted that they would not be able to attend PIR and wanted to send their Sailor something. I haven't had a chance to look through all the posts (7 PIR groups worth) so I am posting this to try and find you! (I will still look later!)
