Welcome to PIR 01/20/2012

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Yay, so happy to hear you got a letter Cristina....the form letter will come later.  Well I have yet to receive my son's form letter and he left Nov 1st, but I think most everyone has gotten their's....my son did give me all the info on the form letter, so wherever it is I hope some stranger doesn't come to his PIR and try to use it..lol!!!

We got a phone call just now from our son..it was very hard to hear him, the connection was bad, but I will take any call I can get.  He said he is doing much better and is ready to move ahead!! Yay, that makes me one happy mom!:)

@Rachael- oh my gosh it's an awesome feeling. I was bummed about not getting a phone call yesterday, I checked the mail today and I saw his handwriting. At least I can read his letter over and over and over again :) You will hear from your SR soon :)

Comment by Navy Mom x3 on November 25, 2011 at 8:27pm
Wow Christina! That's so encouraging to hear! I sure hope to get something from my SR soon!

I received a letter from my son but not the form letter!!!!! Oh my gosh, it's so overwhelming! I'm so glad to hear from him. He said the food is really good but only 12 mins. to eat :) He also said they made him a second section leader, don't know what it means but ok. He's adjusting well, I'm so happy and proud!

Comment by diannep on November 25, 2011 at 8:19pm

mome2jord: No, he would start at the training day he was at when removed from his other division.  They don't start over. They are put in a division that is right where they left off in training.

Comment by diannep on November 25, 2011 at 8:16pm

cristina: If you are sure that is his division, you can write. But sometimes the recruiter's addresses are not correct.  So we ask that you wait until you hear from your SR via form letter.  Better to write the letters and mail all at once when you get the address.  Remember, the mail is held from them for 2 weeks anyway...so probably better to wait for the form letter.

Comment by futureHMwife on November 25, 2011 at 7:04pm

ugh my mailman has not ran today! I took my letters out of the box because I don't want them in there over night. How dare he be sooo late! lol

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 25, 2011 at 6:56pm

mome2jord-The fact that he is in a division is good. They have Ships for the really sick or injured who need to recover before being put back into a regular division. Ship 04 and 06 usually. It is called RCU. Those recruits are placed into a TG that is the closest to where they were at when they went to RCU. Your son will just start wherever this TG was at!

You have a very good attitude lady! Keep it up...I know it's hard when someone you love is struggling and you can't "do" anything about it! That's been the biggest challenge and blessing...learning that I have to let go...things I shoudl've let go of before probably! All part of that transition of becoming a parent of an adult. LOL!

Guess this where having" knees like a camel" comes in?!

CHristina...mail the letters!
